Our Vision
Our vision is to be the lighthouse and the first destination for the scientific research in Egypt and the middle east and to be the main supporter for scientists and researchers in the scientific research field.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help in building a real and strong scientific community in a way that guarantees an appropriate environment for scientists and researchers to develop their scientific and professional skills in order to achieve the best performance in the scientific research system in Egypt and the Middle East.
Our Strategic Objectives:
1)The Scientific Personality.
2)Scientific Environment in our community.
3)Skills and Competencies.
4)Communication and Integration.
5)Involving scientific research to benefit the civil and industrial communities.
What is Innovation ?
What is Innovation ?
1)Innovation vs. Creativity
2)Innovation vs. Invention
3)Innovation Definition
4)Innovation process
Innovation vs. Creativity
1)Creativity is about unleashing the potential of the mind to conceive new ideas.
2)Creativity is subjective and hard to measure.
3)Innovation is about introducing change into relatively stable systems. It’s also concerned with the work required to make an idea viable.
4)Innovation is measurable.
Organizations often chasecreativity, but what they really need to do
is pursue innovation.
Innovation vs. Invention:
1)Invention is discovering something that is entirely new.
2)Invention needs a lot of time, effort and resources or may happen by chance (Serendipity).
3)Innovation is focusing on making something new out of already existing invention.
4)Innovation gives a better impact on people and business.
Some Examples:
1)Internet
2)Microprocessors
3)Nanotechnology
4)Femtosecond (10 -15)
5)Touchscreens
6)LED
“Apple” as an example of Innovation Concept
Innovation Definition:
The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay.
Importance of Innovation:
1)Addressing new needs (Smartphones).
2)Solving problems in community (Underground).
3)Approaching new markets (Fanta).
4)Improving performance (Blind workers).
5)Grabbing new opportunities (Investment in Dubai).
Stages or Innovation:
1)Inspiration
2)Ideation
3)Implementation
The Innovation Process:
1) Inform and Engage:
•Communicate Challenge
•Help People submit ideas
2) Accept and Stretch:
•Accept and group ideas
•Workshop to expand
3) Selection:
•Present
•Select
Criteria of Selection in Innovation Process:
1)Organization Strategy.
2)Resources and Budget.
3)Market needs.
4)Portfolio or Porgrammesobjectives.
5)Capabilities and Competencies.
Types of Innovation:
1)Incremental Innovation
2)Process Innovation
3)Red ocean Innovation
4)Service Innovation
5)Business Model Innovation
6)Sustainable Innovation
7)Frugal Innovation
8)Blue Ocean Innovation
9)Radical / Breakthrough Innovation
10)Outsource / Crowdsource Innovation
11)Experience Innovation
12)Impossible Innovation
13)Disruptive Innovation
14)User lead Innovation
Innovation Tools (Divergence):
1)Brainstorming (Alex Osborn)
2)Reverse Brainstorming
3)Challenge Assumptions (What if … was not true?
4)“More Inspiration” technique
5)Random Input

Mind mapping:
1)Definition
2)How to mind map ?
3)Examples
Mind mapping Definition:
A mind map is a diagram used to visually organize information.
How to mind map:
1)Start in the center with an image of the topic, using at least 3 colors.
2)Use images, symbols, codes, and dimensions throughout your mind map.
3)Select key words and print using upper or lower case letters.
4)Use curved lines same as brain grooves.
5)The lines should be connected, starting from the central image. The lines become thinner as they radiate out from the center.
6)Use multiple colors throughout the mind map.
7)Develop your own personal style of mind mapping.
8)Use emphasis and show associations in your mind map.
9)Keep the mind map clear by using radial hierarchy or outlines.
