(Finnish Ministry of Education, 2009) Entrepreneurship in Finnish Education System Entrepreneurship education is a much larger concept than entrepreneurship in the exercise of the profession of entrepreneurship and comprises the following active and self-imposed individual entrepreneurial learning environment collaboration in a network that supports education and entrepreneurship social policy that advances active and entrepreneurial activity entrepreneurship education establishes entrepreneurship in everybody and everywhere education in entrepreneurship Entrepreneurship education is part of life-long learning capability of life management, interaction and leading oneself capability to innovate and face change Purpose of education is to advance entrepreneurship becoming a mode of operation In primary education positive attitudes, basic knowledge and competencies in entrepreneurship as well as entrepreneurial modes of operation are emphasised In secondary and higher education knowledge and comptences are deepend and advancing practical skills in entreprenurship are included in the education Entrepreneurial operation culture realises itself in collaboration with the surrounding environment The aim is that the learner considers it easy to operate in the future employment market either as an entrepreneur or working for somebody else SESSION 1: RECAP

Entrepreneurial competences for Financial Resources Mobilization & Optimization in EC4SLT  know how to attract capital and staff  able to think beyond resource constraints  able to use resources, including staffing, creatively  capable of understanding and analysing the cost/benefit to the school  be aware of external funding opportunities  have a basic knowledge about financial regulations

Enquiry method for Module 4 Developing one’s community through conducting research on it The basic enquiry cycle comprises the following phases Examination of the starting level Analysis of the examination Development suggestions created on the basis of the analysis Examination of the development suggestions Analysis of the examination Development plan created on the basis of the analysis Creating a need to know Asking questions Using evidence & experience Making sense of evidence & experience Reflecting on learning To what extent have we initiated an enquiry?

Heart in participatory leadership For example Art of Hosting (and Harvesting) Learning core practices like Conducting dialogue Work methods as world café, open space, gallery walk etc. ICT-tools like padlet, trello, blogging, skype, facebook, twitter (Art of Hosting workbook 2013, Hamburg, Germany)

Enquiry on Resources Mobilization and Optimization The following questions were asked and answered using an electronic questionnaire Are the costs and outcomes analysed and outlined together by the whole community in order to develop your unit? Yes, how? No, why not? Are people in your unit aware of various funding opportunities? Yes, what kind of opportunities? No, why not? What kind of practices are there for the mobilization and optimization of resources in your unit? In your opinion, how should the mobilization and optimization of resources in your unit be developed? The answers were analysed and delivered for reflection before the next session.
  9. 9. Analysis of Enquiry: Finland What did we learn from the enquiry? Are the costs and outcomes analysed and outlined together by the whole community in order to develop your unit? Yes 80%, a lot of variation but mainly following the budget No 20% , a lot of variation but mainly little knowledge Are people in your unit aware of various funding opportunities? Yes 36%, a lot of variation from just the budget to many projects No 64%, poor knowledge of opportunities What kind of practices are there for the mobilization and optimization of resources in your unit? A lot variation but mainly resources come from local central administration budget is presented and discussed and agreements made in meetings in some unit(s) proactive efforts for external funding Suggestions for further development Strengthening community involvement, focus on merging two schools, further developing acquisition of external resources
