Cocktail dresses

 1. 1. History of cocktail dress in a nutshell
2. 2. How cocktail dresses were designed?
It would quite fascinating to know about the history of the cocktail dresses which has become a classic piece for every women’s wardrobe. The cocktail dresses were initially designed in light of social changes during the 1920s. The little black dresses, a name in which the cocktail dresses are widely known, can boast about a class and elegance exclusively.
3. 3. A symbol of women's freedom
The cocktail dresses have the explicit capacity to merge festivity with appeal. The word traces its origin from the famous ‘cocktail parties’ which hit the masses during 1928. The dresses were specifically worn during the parties by women who were labeled as flappers. Later it became a trend and many women start wearing it for parties. It was a symbol of women’s freedom in both action and self. The cocktail dresses had stayed for long and would never be out of fashion. But as we trace history, the dresses had popularly come up a long way through the shaken times with a major social change.
4. 4. Cocktail dress were short and sweet
The cocktail culture has bloomed long before World War 1 but got prominence only in a postwar era. The parties always had a democratic appeal with social obligations to an unlimited number of people. People from different classes mingled in those parties and the air was always lighthearted, loose and less exclusive. The unrestrictive features of cocktail dresses enabled free movement with a drink in hand. Knee length of the dress symbolized women’s social mobility to a large extent. Unlike the dance gowns, which were designed to flow and had to impress, the cocktail dress were short and sweet giving away an impression of carefree spirit.
5. 5. Qualitiesof black dress
One of the best qualities of black dress is its transition ability from day to evening. If you want to get the simple and conservative look at office or chic and sophisticated look for evening parties, black is the perfect choice. Moreover, if you accessorize your little black dress with creativity, you can easily transform the fashion statement with a punch.
