  1. 1. Animal adaptations Blooms taxonomy
  2. 2. Remembering:How heavy can an elephant get?  Elephants come in all different sizes and species. There are between 26 and 12 million years ago. Now there are only 3 species left. The Asian elephant, African bush elephant and the African forest elephant.  Asian elephant: 2,700 kg  African forest elephant: 2,700 kg  African bush elephant: 5,500 kg
  3. 3. Analysing: If Mars had oxygen could a chicken survive? Unlike Earth, Martian dirt is very hostile towards plant life. Unless we can genetically alter plants to grow upon the red planets soil. The chicken could eat plants, but food would be extremely scarce. How about water? Water is supposed to be fresh when it is drunk. It is like us drinking salt water. What happens to us? We get sick right. But no one would be able to help it.
  4. 4. Understanding : Why do snakes shed their skin?  A snake sheds its skin because snakes skin doesn’t grow when its body grows so they need to shed skin to grow a bigger sized skin. If a snake doesn’t shed skin its skin will stretch.
  5. 5. Applying: What will happen to a snake in winter?  Snakes and many other reptiles find shelter in holes or burrows, and spend the winter inactive, or dormant. This is similar to hibernation.  Snakes crawl into caves, hollow logs, or other animal's burrows to hibernate. Sometimes there will be as many as a hundred snakes in one cave.
