Temples in Shimla
Jakhoo temple Shimla
Dedicated to lord Hanuman is located on the Jakhoo Peak the highest peak in
( 8000 feet above MSL). This temple is 1.5 kilometers from the Ridge.
Sankat Mochan Temple
Dedicated to Lord Hanuman is located near Tara Devi station about 5 kilometers
from Shimla on the Chandigarh Shimla National Highway.
Kali Bari Temple
located near the Mall road about half a kilometer from Scandal Point. This temple
is famous with Bengali tourists.
Tara Devi temple
This temple is located on the top of Tara Devi hill. Three is a diversion on the right
at Shoghi 13 kilometers before Shimla while coming from Chandigarh. The temple
is 5 kilometers from this diversion.
Kamna Devi temple
located on the prospect hill about three kilometers from Shimla. Prospect hill has
an elevation of about 2200 mts. above the sea level.
Make a tour by Toy train
Kalka to Shimla is a narrow gauge railway track having a length of 90
kilometers. It is more than 100 years old world heritage site and
tourists coming to Shimla do not want to miss its ride. As the trains
running on this route are Small in size they are also called toy
trains. The track is famous for its 103 tunnels and Trains on this
route can be booked in the same as other trains on the IRCRC
website online. The train takes five and a half hour to travel from
Kalka to Shimla due to hill terrain.
The following is the Shimla Kalka toy train time table. Please note
that most of the trains are in the early morning and there is no train
after 12:00 noon. IF you are arriving at Kalka in the evening from
Delhi you will have to take a Hotel near bye Kalka and start the next
day morning to enjoy this heritage train ride.

Tourist spots in Shimla
There are a number of tourist spots around Shimla, the most popular of them is
Kufri. Other than Kufri there are Fagu, Mashobra, Naldehra, Tattapani, Narkanda
and Chail hill stations popular among the tourists.
Kufri :Situated at a distance of 13 kilometers from Shimla and 26 kilometers from
Sunrise Villa this place is famous for its scenic beauty, snowfall and winter sports
in winter season and horse and Yak rides.
Mashobra :It is on the way to Naldehra 11 kilometers before Naldehra. On the hilltop there
is a small villa surrounded by a big garden called Carignano close to Mashobra
and offers excellent views of the area.
Naldehra:Famous for its forest walks, horse rides, scenic beauty and golf course, Naldehra
is 22 kilometers from Shimla and 35 kilometers from Sunrise Villa. Naldehra
boasts of the oldest 9 hole golf course in the country. The well groomed Golf
Course is a lovely verdant, perhaps one of the finest and sporty in India.
Tourist spots in Shimla
Tattapani:Tattapani is 51 kilometers from Shimla, 64 kilometers from Sunrise Villa.
The road passes through Mashobra and Naldehra. Tattapani is at a lower
altitude (656m), Located on the banks of the river Sutlej there are hot
sulphur springs believed to have medicinal value. Tattapani is also famous
for white water rafting.
Narkanda:Narkanda offers a spectacular view of higher snow ranges. An uphill trek
(8 km) through deodar woods leads beholder to Hatu Peak famous for
ancient Hatu Mata Temple (3475 m) which is now connected with a
motor-able road. During winter, under the aegis of HPTDC, skiing is also
conducted here. Kotgarh and Thanedhar, Himachal’s apple heartland
famous for delicious apples are located in the vicinity of Narkanda.
Chail:Chail is 45 kilometers from Shimla, Chail is famous for the palace hotel,
cricket ground and wild life sanctuary.
