WMS is een zgn. Library Service Platform
Who here is a user of WMS?
WMS provides all the essential library functions, but more importantly, it does so in a way that allows libraries to simplify back-office workflows to free up staff and money to support new projects, spend more time with patrons, students, researchers.
In addition, because all the WorldShare applications share one platform and one data source (WorldCat) it makes it easier to connect the library’s systems to other systems on campus using our 25 APIs.
WMS also includes a range of Reports based on local data that help libraries understand their activities and track key metrics over time, which can provide the data you need to communicate your value to the people who control library funding.

Exemplaargegevens worden gekoppeld aan bestaande titels in GGC er vindt geen verrijking op bibliografisch niveau plaats. Indien er geen match wordt gevonden wordt een nieuwe titel gecreëerd –
B-titels.
Per type bestand een aparte M&M procedure
Of course, the foundation of our shared work as a cooperative continues to be WorldCat, built by our members and now the world’s largest bibliographic database – 380+ million records and 2.4 billion holdings.
And WorldCat continues to grow!

Discovery is based on the central index. That is all of WorldCat combined with articles and other materials from publishers around the world.
