The Road to Confederation, pg. 118 <ul><li>In 1867 some of the colonies of British North America (BNA) joined together in Confederation. </li></ul><ul><li>This union was the creation of the country we now live in, Canada. </li></ul><ul><li>However, this union didn’t happen right away and it took a great many years to accomplish. </li></ul><ul><li>One by one colonies joined, leading to our present country. </li></ul>

Thinking Past Responsible Government, Pg. 120 <ul><li>By 1864 all the colonies in BNA had achieved Responsible Government. </li></ul><ul><li>But leaders began to think beyond this and pondered the future of the colonies. </li></ul><ul><li>BNA lost their free-trade status with British and this ended up costing them money! </li></ul><ul><li>At the same time the USA continued to grow and become stronger. </li></ul>
