assemble and act on the knowledge accumulated throughout
an organization. Such knowledge may include the texts and
images contained in patents, design methods, best practices,
competitor intelligence, and similar sources, with the
elaboration and commentary included. Placing the
organization’s documents and communications in an indexed
and cross-referenced form enables rich search capabilities.
Organizational knowledge is often tacit, rather than explicit,
so these systems must also direct users to members of the
organization with special expertise.
Knowledge management systems
16. A large category of information systems comprises those
designed to support the management of an organization.
These systems rely on the data obtained by transaction
processing systems, as well as on data and information
acquired outside the organization (on the Web, for
example) and provided by business partners, suppliers, and
customers.
Management support
17. Information systems support all levels of management, from
those in charge of short-term schedules and budgets for small
work groups to those concerned with long-term plans and
budgets for the entire organization. Management reporting
systems provide routine, detailed, and voluminous information
reports specific to each manager’s areas of responsibility.
These systems are typically used by first-level supervisors.
Generally, such reports focus on past and present activities,
rather than projecting future performance. To prevent
information overload, reports may be automatically sent only
under exceptional circumstances or at the specific request of a
manager.
Management reporting systems

societies (information technology era)
Increasing personnel in modern administrations authorities
Development and the emergence of networks and processors
minute data
The emergence of new information systems based on the use
of computers and advanced communications networks
The great demand for information, which turned it into an
important strategic resource

organizations and departments which everyone seeks it.

22. Overview About Toyota
The Toyota Motor Company is one of the biggest car
manufacturers in the globe. Toyota has established a
reputation as both an engine producer and the
manufacturer of luxury vehicles. While the
organization's headquarters are still situated in Japan, it
has several manufacturing facilities all over the globe
and sales departments in various nations where the
vehicles are transported.
23. Toyota Management Before
Information System
Back in the days, Toyota mangers used to monitor
inventory and employee and many things manually just
to make sure the work goes smoothly and everything is
running well.
Their time was consumed by monitoring and trying to
discover problems so they can solve it.
There was a delay for delivering shipments such as car
parts, because they didn't have a management system
which is can track the demand of the customers
specially overseas.
24. Toyota Management With
Information System
These management information systems offer effective
management for warehouses of the whole procedure
from the period products are obtained, to storage and
location control, to shipment. Individuals, products, and
data are addressed, wastes are removed, and everyday
enhancements are advocated. The Toyota WMS are
tasked to offer an important function in generating
comprehensive reports out of huge volumes of warehouse
information that would otherwise be primarily considered
as junk to decision makers. By analyzing these outputs
warehouse management officers of Toyota can determine
patterns and trends that would have stayed invisible if
the raw information were consulted in manual terms.
25. Information System Helped Toyota
Achieving Business Objectives
Manage inventory, employee, and customer in accurate
and efficient way.
Cost savings, rapid product development and process
improvements.
Speed up the time it takes new products to reach the
market.
Strong relationship with the customers and suppliers.
26. Toyota Type of Technology and
Infrastructure of IT
Material direction and tracking in a warehouse can be
coordinated by a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Logistics personnel use the WMS to improve warehouse
efficiency by directing pathways and to maintain
accurate inventory by recording warehouse transactions.
With a proper slotting plan, a warehouse can improve its
inventory rotation requirements—such as first in, first out
(FIFO) and last in, first out (LIFO)—control labor costs and
increase productivity.
27. How Toyota Store Their Data
And Secure It?
Toyota store there data in a secure database driven by
computer program.
They added a protection layer to their systems.
Also no one can enter to the database without
authorization.
28. Conclusion
The information system is important thing to improve
every organization and if that organization or that
manager who have that key “information system” hew
will be able to manage his organization smoothly and in
a good way.
The information system help the managers to improve
their work and achieve the future goals.
