Why Young Professionals Must be on Linkedin <ul><li>It is exactly what you are doing right now – networking. </li></ul><ul><li>It provides a platform to broaden opportunities and contacts </li></ul><ul><li>Your activity increases your value in your industry </li></ul><ul><li>You can position yourself as an expert </li></ul><ul><li>It can be used for research / learning </li></ul><ul><li>Follow up with contacts you’ve met offline </li></ul><ul><li>Job hunt – or get hunted </li></ul>

Building Out Your Profile & Presenting Yourself <ul><li>Be thorough and don’t skimp on details – </li></ul><ul><li>Build out your profile 100% - Follow Linkedin notifications </li></ul><ul><li>All employment history, internships and volunteer work </li></ul><ul><li>Describe your major goals and career objectives </li></ul><ul><li>Focus on the value you could bring to an employer </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid any hard selling </li></ul>
