  • The in-depth survey commissioned by the Society and administered by the Roper Organization was conducted between February 18th and March 28th, 2005 via telephone among a national sample of 300 post-menopausal women diagnosed with early breast cancer. The women met the following criteria:Had completed three or more years of adjuvant hormonal therapy (such as tamoxifen), and are still receiving that therapy, or Had completed five or more years of adjuvant hormonal therapy (such as tamoxifen) within the past two years.
  • The breast cancer risks for women in the study born after 1940 were significantly higher for those born in the same families before 1940
  • From july 2002 thru june 2007 1,785,597 mammograms were provided to 1,146,391 women, and 14,682 breast cancers were detected. These data reflect clinical services provided through CDC’s Nation Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program

Sharon’s Biography<br />Sharon returned to the FUN 107 morning show in 2001 after leaving for several years to work in television.<br />A native of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Sharon graduated with honors from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Speech Communication and a concentration in radio and television production.<br />Her broadcasting career began at WPEP-AM in Taunton. Sharon has worked in radio in Boston, Providence and Orlando.<br />Her television career includes working as a news anchor for ABC 6 in Providence, RI. While at ABC 6 Sharon also covered major news events in and around Southern New England.<br />Sharon has also anchored and produced, Southcoast Hospital’s “Your Health Matters.” A television series which aired throughout Bristol County Massachusetts.<br />In November of 2001 Sharon left the bright lights of television behind to reunite with JR. Together they hosted the most listened to FM morning radio show in southeastern, Massachusetts.<br />

    11. 11. Timeline<br />February 2010: Hold a fitness event at Fairhaven, New Bedford, Dartmouth, and Durfee High Schools with local gym trainers donating their time by leading the exercises. Have healthy snacks available from local retailers that advertise with Fun 107FM. <br />March 2010: Continue advertising on-air and on website. Continue bringing advertisement brochures to various events the radio station attends<br />April 2010: Walk takes place on the 25th<br />November 2009: Start advertising on-air at WHFN and on the website about the walk in honor of Sharon Fogaren.<br />December 2009:. Bring advertisement brochures to various events the radio station attends. Start involving radio station interns and local volunteers to help in the distribution of information<br />January 2010: Start a fitness track on-line for people to follow to get in-shape for the walk. We will also begin leaving posters and brochures at businesses that Sharon once advertized for. <br />
