Henry Antwi (HOD, Oman Oil Company)
Henry Antwi is Head of Mining and Metals at Oman Oil Company, a commercial company wholly
owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.
As Head of Mining and Metals, Henry is responsible for sourcing, screening, evaluating and
developing mining opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions around the world. He also
manages Oman Oil’s mining projects from concept phase to implementation, leading commercial
negotiations and coordinating due diligence on technical, financial and legal matters.
Prior to joining Oman Oil, Henry was the Commercial Development Manager responsible for
international growth at Sedgman Ltd, a mineral processing engineering company in Australia. He
also held various managerial, engineering and consulting roles with BHP (USA and Australia), AME
Mineral Economics (Australia), Runge Consulting (Australia), Thiess Ltd (Australia) and Ashanti
Goldfields (Ghana). Henry sits on various boards and business review committees. As board
member of BlackRock Metals in Canada, Henry played a major role in getting the project to
bankable feasibility to attract project funding. He is a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining
and Metallurgical Engineers, authored papers in technical magazines and presented at various
mining conferences in the USA, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.
Henry has a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Camborne School of Mines, UK and a
Masters’ Degree in Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics from Colorado School of Mines,
USA. In order to add an element of diversity to his education, Henry completed Business Studies at
Curtin University of Science and Technology in Australia is rich with a wealth of requisite
professional wisdom to deliver a keynote address to the Accra Mining Network.
