  • BIM “education” is presently largely done by software vendors. This is inadequate because it overlooks important topics like interoperability, designing workflows for different types of projects. It also usually doesn’t address firm managers who make decisions about software and hardware procurement and implementation.
  • Type and depth of BIM knowledge needed depends on whether someone is doing modeling every day, managing a project, interacting with clients or consultants, or making management decisions for the firm. It also depends on the level of the individual’s interest in BIM and technology in general.Orgs: AGC, ASHRAE, NIST, CSI, etc. Negotiate mutual acceptance of each others’ courses.
