Do you recognise any of these? • Getting to the end of the day and find you have done none of the planning, marking or organising you planned to do? • Taking a bag of work home and bringing it back untouched? • Finding you have completely forgotten to do something? • Being unable to find something? (paperwork, file on the portal, a child’s jotter etc.) • Sometimes feeling overwhelmed by the amount of work you feel you need to do?

  5. 5. • Losing things • Meetings – that don’t need to be held, that overrun, that start late • Interruptions • Procrastination • Junk Paperwork / emails • Crises • Perfectionism • Distraction
  6. 6. Some Tips • • • • • • • • Use your diary Paperwork / emails Book quiet time / no calls Use the technology Use your colleagues Track deadlines / plan sensibly Prioritise Time spent organising yourself will save you time
  7. 7. The Big Ones • Attitude • Be realistic –about where to start and what can reasonably be achieved • Don’t overestimate what is expected of you and overburden yourself as a result • Seeking help is common sense and realism, not a sign of weakness
