  2. 2. • Aim to improve food security of smallholder farmers in SSA through reduction of postharvest losses of food crops (grains and pulses).
  3. 3. Introduction Phase 1 (April 2013 to March 2017): Testing of technologies, business models and materials on good practices; Phase 2 (April 2017 to March 2020): Scaling up and out of proven technologies and good practices on PHM to scale, at national and regional levels. Partners: HELVETAS and FANRPAN; AFAAS &AGRIDEA Pilots: Benin and Mozambique. Three strategic areas of focus: 1. Improved handling and storage technologies 2. Good practices in PHM compiled, disseminated and scaled; 3. Regulatory frameworks (policies, standards, norms, protocols); national and regional levels and financing
