Orphanage Cappeny / Lungisisa Indlela Village(LIV)  Orphanage and vulnerable children  Process of admission into LIV goes through:  Assessment by social worker and court decisions  Activities started in 2011 in August by Mr Tich Smith  It is a Christian organisation but no discrimination of any religion

Field visit to Orphanage Cappeny Estate • Forster mothers • Age restriction • Early child hood development /primary-high school education /involved in skills development • They have 140 children • People are working on voluntary basis • They generate income from Agricultural produce (Moringa) • They depend on donations and to agricultural products • They recycle water as a solution to climate change

Cappeny Estates (Strawberry Farm) • It was established in 2013 by Gumede Family it is private land • The size of the farm is 17,5 Ha and they use only 5Ha • They have 80 tunnels • They process their products • Use of cellphone to manage the farm • They use Plastic cover for water conservation and reduction off chemical use • They are Global certified

Conclusion and Reflections by group • People are aware of climate smart agriculture but need improvement • The setup is multi racial, and sustainable business structure (LIV) • Passion and commitment assisted to achieve good agricultural results despite having no agricultural background (Strawberry farm) • Impressed by the age group of the owners (Strawberry farm) • ICT is already on use to manage farms
