2. House Interior
The first location to be shown in my opening sequence will be the house interior. Only
the hall and bottom of the stairs will be shown. The location has white walls and will
have a very minimalistic style of décor. This is to create a sense of a sterile location and
implies that it could be the house of someone with OCD. In this location the only thing
that will be shown is the arrival of the murderer, him taking off his jacket and going
upstairs to get some headphones. This will take place during the day with lots of natural
light to further portray the idea of a clinical setting. This location will be useful to use as
it is my own house and therefore can film whenever I need to.
Garage
This location will be much darker and bleaker compared to the previous interior.
Much of the opening sequence occurs here. Firstly the murderer enters through
the side door, he then sits at his desk and cuts out the newspaper headline. He
then turns and addresses the man tied to a chair at the other side of the room.
This scene is all set during the day as this means I can have some dynamic
natural light. This setting is also located at my house and therefore I can film
there whenever necessary. However the location is very open to the elements
and this could be a disadvantage as we are filming in winter.
House Exterior
This is outside of both the garage and the house. This will appear in the opening
sequence as a transition between the house and the garage. It will also appear at
the end of the opening sequence as the victim is screaming in pain. This will
also be shot during the day as it is set during the day so that it looks like a happy
location to contrast the hidden secrets that lie underneath.
