departmentalization , wide
spans of control ,centralized
authority and little
formalization.
Strengths of simple
structure organization
1- A business owner tight control over her
company’s operation.
2- There is no hesitation on the part of
employees in a simple structure, because
their orders come directly from the top.
3- Companies make decisions quicker with a
simple structure, because there are no layers
of management that ideas or requests need
to climb before approval.

1-A simple organizational structure
revolve around the workload of the
owner.
2-If an owner is sick, in a meeting or on
a business trip, the entire company can
become paralyzed.

product or service, with a leadership
structure that supports its major
strategic objectives.
Weakness of Divisional
structure organization
A divisional structure also has weaknesses. A
company comprised of competing divisions
may allow office politics instead of sound
strategic thinking to affect its view on such
matters as allocation of company resources.
Thus, one division will sometimes act to
undermine another. Also, divisions can bring
compartmentalization that can lead to
incompatibilities.

DISADVANTAGE OF TEAM
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
This lack of focus on the individual can be a disadvantage
of team-based organizations, since participants seek
recognition for their individual contributions; thus,
motivating individuals in a team-based organization can
be more challenging. In addition, team-based
organizations are decentralized rather than hierarchical.
This lack of centralization is another disadvantage of
team-based organizations.
Advantages of Team-Based
Organizations
Team-based organizations require that
all employees participate in the
decision-making process. Employees
feel they are part of the total
organization, rather than members of
an individual department.
