On September 11, 2001
United Airlines flight 93 was hijacked by 4 Al
Qaeda terrorists
The main intention was to have the airplane
crash into the United States Capitol or the
White House
Travel time was 5 hours and 25 minutes
3. United 93
The passengers attempt to regain control of
the plane, helped it miss its specific target.
It nosed dived and crashed in Somerset
County in Pennsylvania.
44 people including the 4 hijackers died.
No one on the ground was injured

The country was in major grief as it
was one of the many tragedies that
occurred that day
5. World Trade Center
Bombing at the World
Trade Center on
February 26, 1993
Bomb was placed in a
yellow Ryder van parked
in a public parking garage
beneath the World Trade
Center.
The bomb cut off the
World Trade Center’s
electrical power.
6. World Trade Center
The bomb caused smoke
to rise up to the 93rd floor
of both towers.
Hundreds were trapped in
elevators in the towers
when the power was cut,
including a group of 17
kindergartners, on their way
down from the South Tower
observation deck, who
were trapped between the
35th and 36th floors for five
hours.
7. World Trade Center
The bombing at the World Trade Center killed 6
people and injured more than 1,000 people.
The attack was planned by a group of
conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud
Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal A.
Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj.
They received financing from Ramzi Yousef’s
uncle.
8. World Trade Center
In March 1994, four men were convicted of
carrying out the bombing: Abouhalima, Ajaj,
Ayyad and Salameh
The charges included conspiracy, explosive
destruction of property and interstate
transportation of explosives.
In November 1997, two more were convicted:
Ramzi Yousef, the mastermind behind the
bombings, and Eyad Ismoil who drove the truck
carrying the bomb
