YOUTH EXCHANGE TO SINGAPORE
Arriving at Singapore Changi Airport around 5pm, welcomed by hosted family Lion Cheryl and her
mother. Dinner at home with them. Hand over some Sabah products and exchanged club bannerette.
Had breakfast at the Tiong Bahru Market, visit around the market. Went to visit City Hall, Art House
at Parliament, Asian Civilization Museum, Singapore River, Stamford Raffles Monument, One
Fullerton, Merlion Park, Esplanade, China Town. Whole day was accompanied by hosted family.
Had breakfast at old Authentic Hainanese coffee shop. Went to Orchard Road and walk around. Had
lunch at Good Wood Park hotel with hosted family then proceed to the Mountbatten Vocational
School, the Singapore Association for the deaf to attend the 2009 prize‐giving and award
presentation ceremony organized by the Mountbatten Vocational School.
Evening attended Lions Club of Singapore Eunos 13th Anniversary dinner hosted by Singapore District
Governor at Bliss Garden Restaurant. Hand over Lions Club KK City bannerette and DG Karen Koh
bannerette to District 308 – A1 DG Lion Anthony Tay. Had fun with DG Karen, DC Shirley and other
Had breakfast at home. Attended the market joint project at Ang Mo Kio Centre. The aim of this
project was to collect food for the elderly. Went to City Hall by MRT. Visited Toys Museum, National
Library, Bugis Street, Bugis Junction with some Singapore Leos.
Whole day at Sentosa Island with two Singapore Leos.
Went to Singapore Zoo and Night Safari with some Singapore Leos.
Went to Jurong Bird Park. Had delicious Katong laksa and rojak for lunch at Katong accompanied by
hosted family. Proceed to Singapore Changi Airport for flight back Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
This was a very well organized youth exchange program and I would like to thank DG Lion Anthony Tay,
DG Karen Koh, DC Youth Exchange Lion Margaret and Lion Shirley, Leos and especially the hospitality of
my hosted family, Lion Alan & Cheryl and their son Jun Wei. We really had a wonderful and enjoyable
