  2. 2. Biography Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin was born in Moscow in 1799. He died in 1837 in a duel .
  3. 3. First steps Self-portrait, 1820s He was 37 years old at the time. He was the founder of modern Russian literature. He wrote his first poem when he was 8 years old .
  4. 4. Grandfather Abran Gannibal His great-grandfather Abram Gannibal was brought from Africa to Russia as a gift for Peter the Great.
  5. 5. Education (A.S. Pushkin at 15) He published his first poem when he was 15 years old. In 1817, he graduated from the Imperial Tsarskoe Selo Lyceum.
  6. 6. Married Natalia Pushkina, portrait by Alexandr Brullov, 1831. From 1820 to 1826 he was exiled from the capital cities of Russia for political reasons. In 1831, he married Natalya Goncharova.
  7. 7. Novels The Bronze Horsmen The Bronze Horsmen In 1833, he published his novel Eugene Onegin and wrote the poem The Bronze Horseman.
  8. 8. Museums Museum in Saint Petersburg There are several museums in Russia dedicated to Pushkin, including two in Moscow, one in Saint Petersburg, and a large complex in Mikhaylovskoye.
