The Leadership Ascension Response Kitchen is mobilekitchen that will be deployed in disaster situations to feedrescue workers and volunteers.When there is no disaster the kitchen will be used by theJambalaya Festival Association, first responders, non-profits and sponsors around the community for fundraisingeffortsThe Jambalaya Festival Association willown, maintain, and schedule the logistics of the trailerThe Ascension Parish Office of Emergency Operations willhave the ability to commandeer the trailer at any timewhen responding to a disaster.LARK is a Leadership Ascension project
The JFA cooks for 50+charitable events a year including When there is no disaster the trailer will be used •National Guard by the Jambalaya Festival Association , sponsors •Cystic Fibrosis and first responders around the region to help with •Mental Health Assoc. fundraising nonprofits•Dream Day Foundation •C.A.S.A •Relay for Life •Girl Scouts •March of Dimes •St. Jude •LA State Fire Marshall •Christmas Parade•Chamber of Commerce •Boys and Girls Club •United Way •City of Gonzales •Race for the CureThe list goes on and on
•Organized as a 501 (c) 3 not for profitorganization by the IRS.•Founded 45-years ago to promote theheritage of cooking Jambalaya over awood burning fire.•Hosts an annual 4-day festival.Proceeds from the festival are used tohelp community organizations withfundraisers. When the JFA cooks atyour event they provide ALL food andpaper products.
• The purpose is to provide a forum for andincrease the awareness of potential leaders bygiving them an intense course which encompasses abroad scope of community concerns.•The Ascension Leadership Program requires groupsto complete a community service project thatbenefits the overall community. For years theseprojects have left a lasting legacy and served bothAscension Parish residents and businesses.•Past community service examples include projectssuch as a senior citizen’s prom, a mass casualtyresponse bus, a parish-wide youth mentoringprogram and countless more positive examples ofvolunteerism

We made $2,000. Event wassponsored by Motiva, Veron’s Sausage, Thomas Distributors.Chili’s Benefit DayEvent took place April 24. Have not received donation total.
