  2. 2. -Introduction-Many people might know the basics of what afeline or "cat" is, but who could considerthemselves an expert? Instead of researchingsome exotic animal, we decided to do acommon animal that most people only know afew things about. Also, Karis is going to be acrazy cat lady when she grows up, so considerher an expert.MV & KH
  3. 3. -Quotes-"Domestic cats are characterized by a numberof well-known physical characteristics. Theseinclude a flexible and compact body, keeneyesight and adaptations for visual acuity atnight, retractable claws..."-J. Diamond, 2005I was reading an article about the nine lives ofa cat, (which, isnt true), when I came acrossthis quote. It is really interesting that theysurvive from higher up! MV
  6. 6. -Quote 1-"Cats aura of independence fools some peopleinto thinking they need only minimal care. Thetruth is that the average age of stray cats andferals is three years; which should beadequate proof against this myth."-FrannySyufy, 2012.This quote proves that cats may seemindependant, but really they need human careand love to thrive. K.H.

  8. 8. -Quote 3-"Domestic cats have been traced back to asingle wild ancestor whose relatives still livein the remote deserts of the Middle Easttoday."-lifescience.com, 2012This quote proves that house cats came fromwildcats, which explains some of theirbehavior. K.H.
  9. 9. ConclusionAll of this goes to prove that the house cat, derived from african wild cats, are veryinteresting, emotional, lovable animals thatshould be treated with respect. They havemany unique characteristics, and are a specialspecies.
  10. 10. -Reflection-Cats are very interesting creatures. They haveso much personality and they are so fun to bearound, but there are many facts about catsthat people dont know. We wanted to do apresentation about cats to inform peopleabout the less-known facts about the feliscatus.-K.H.
  11. 11. -Reflection-The cat is much more than just a commonhousehold pet. It is like a child (actually achild to some) that wants to love you. If it washuman, I would guess that a cat would be ateenager, because they like to be lazy but arealso very energetic at times. MV
