  3. 3. Reason for high traffic<br />Effects Of High Traffic<br /><ul><li>Excessively high number of private vehicles</li></ul> -Use of private vehicle is more comfortable and at times cheaper<br /><ul><li>Unorganized lifestyle of city people(always in hurry)
  4. 4. Insufficient number of buses
  5. 5. Poor condition of buses
  6. 6. High accident rate
  7. 7. Wastage of time
  8. 8. Pollution increases Global warming
  9. 9. Foreign deficit is increasing </li></ul> -Petrol import is increasing<br /> -Price of crude oil has increased 3 times in last 8 years <br />
  10. 10. High Vehicle Population<br />Facts<br /><ul><li>Total vehicle:32lakh
  11. 11. 1500 new vehicle comes everyday on road
  12. 12. Private vehicle constitute 90%

  14. 14. Accidents<br />Facts<br />Every day:<br /><ul><li>There are 27 serious accidents.3 people die21 people are injured.
  15. 15. 500 people died in road accidents in 2000,while 1100 people dies in 2007.</li></ul> -There is yearly growth of 16% in accident cases.<br />

Koramangala to ITPL<br />Note: Distance between Koramangala to ITPL is 15km and rush hour(standard) is between 8:30am to 10:30 am. <br />

Petrol Requirement as per Vehicle<br /><ul><li>Analysis</li></ul> -We considered 100 people travelling a distance of 100km<br /><ul><li>Fuel Consumption of car is 4 times that of bus</li></ul> Fuel Consumption of bikes are twice that of bus<br />Note: Assumed mileage of Car,bike and bus is taken as 12kmpl,40kmpl and 2kmpl respectively.<br />
  23. 23. What Should be done for it???<br />Individualsteps:<br /><ul><li>Minimize the use of private vehicles.
  24. 24. Sharing of vehicle should be done(car pooling)
  25. 25. Avoid use of vehicle for short distance
  26. 26. We can come up with data based solution for our bus municipality
  27. 27. Study and try to understand the actual problem</li></ul>Steps for Govt.<br /><ul><li>Increase the number of buses
  28. 28. Lower the price of tickets,special offers for student and senior citizen
  29. 29. Higher tax for people using multiple vehicles
  30. 30. Initiatives like Bus Day,Free Travel Day can be launched</li></ul>So,Lets start contributing to society …..<br />
