Personal Project Work-In-Progress Presentation

  1. 1. My Topic: Writing My topic is writing because since I was young, I’ve always loved reading and have always wondered whether I could capture the same essence an author does in his/her book. This was the perfect chance for me to experiment. My Goal: The Area Of Interaction Focus: Human Ingenuity This was my chosen A.O.I because it relates most to my project. My product is solely based on my creativity/ingenuity and without it, I would not be able to complete my product. To write a creative writing piece for teenagers. Product: A book
  2. 2. My Specifications: • The product must be a written piece of work (a short story) • The product must be 100200 pages • The book must have at least 10,000 words • The book must be published • The target audience of the book must be teenagers • The book must address an issue that teenagers relate to and face (bullying and selfesteem) • The book must be fully written by November
  3. 3. A RANGE OF NOVELS A RANGE OF ARTICLES One of the sources I used for my information is articles. The articles that I found were about how one actually plans before writing a book and how one starts/goes through the process. These articles were very helpful/useful for me and gave me a lot of information that I would not have known before. One of my sources for my information was actual novels. I read a couple of novels to gain more knowledge and understanding on different language styles and different techniques that authors use. An example of a novel I read to gain information is The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott. Fitzgerald. A RANGE OF VIDEOS Another source I used in my research is videos. The videos I found helped explain things that I absolutely needed to have in my book. These are the elements of a book that are compulsory and some others that would help make the book more interesting.
  4. 4. • Decisions that I made according to the information I found, Solutions I came up with: - Change in goal - Specifying/adding detail to the initial specifications
  5. 5. • Progress in Creation? • What needs to be done?
  6. 6. Weaknesses: • Information Literacy • Organization Strengths: • Communication/Collaboration • Thinking -(initiation taken in conduction of meetings) -(decision-making and solutions) -(making sure ATL skills are included in the blog) -(research skills – in-depth or not) -(evaluation of sources) -(time-management)
