Texture

  1. 1. RIMSHA ILYAS 13023901-031
  2. 2. • DEFINITION OF TEXTURE • TEXTURE CLASSIFICATION • TYPES OF TEXTURE 1. TACTILE 2. VISUAL 3. ARTIFICIAL 4. NATURAL 5. USE OF TEXTURE IN EDUCATION
  3. 3.  TEXTURE IS DEFINED AS THE TACTILE QUALITY OF THE SURFACE OF AN OBJECT HOW IT FEELS IF TOUCHED. BUT IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT.  THE TEXTURE IS THE VISUAL QUALITY AND TACTILE SURFACES ALL AROUND US. EACH SURFACE IS COMPOSED OF VARIOUS MATERIALS AND CAN BE SMOOTH, ROUGH, SOFT, ETC...
  4. 4. Tactile Visual Natural Artificial
  5. 5.  WE PERCEIVE IT BY TOUCHING AN OBJECT.  EVERY MATERIAL HAS A DIFFERENT TOUCH, SO IT IS A DIFFERENT TEXTURE.
  6. 6.  WHEN WE REPRESENT A TACTILE TEXTURE USING GRAPHIC ELEMENTS, WE GET A VISUAL TEXTURE.  WE CAN CREATE VISUAL TEXTURES USING DIFFERENT ART PROCEDURES: SCRAPPING, STENCILLING, PRINTING
  7. 7.  THEY BELONG TO NATURAL ELEMENTS, LIKE THE SKIN OF AN ELEPHANT, THE CORTEX OF A TREE OR THE SURFACE OF A ROSE PATEL.
  8. 8.  THE SURFACE OF ANY OBJECT MADE BY US: STEEL, PAPER, DIFFERENT KINDS OF FABRICS.  ARTIFICIAL TEXTURES ARE CREATED AND DESIGNED BY HUMAN BEINGS FOR A SPECIFIC PURPOSE TO GIVE A SENSE OF VOLUME
  9. 9.  TACTILE TEXTURES HAVE RELIEF, 3-D CHARACTERISTICS THAT YOU CAN FEEL.  WE PERCEIVE IT BY TOUCHING AN OBJECT.  TACTILE WOULD BE A 3D VERSION, A TEXTURE THAT YOU COULD ACTUALLY FEEL.  PATTERNS PAINTED ON THE WALL OR CEILING MAY NOT BE 3-D, BUT AS FAR AS THE EYE IS CONCERNED, THEY ARE JUST AS REAL AS TACTILE TEXTURES  WE CAN CREATE VISUAL TEXTURES USING DIFFERENT ART PROCEDURES: SCRAPPING, STENCILLING, PRINTING  VISUAL TEXTURE WOULD BE SOMETHING 2D, SOMETHING THAT IS DRAWN OR PAINTED TO LOOK LIKE A TEXTURE
