Meals, Parking, the Expenses add up quickly <ul><li>Keep a running total of expenses by day. </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Meals </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Gas </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Parking </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Office Supplies </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Miscellaneous </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Conference admission, membership fees, donations etc </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>First we try, then we Learn for next time… </li></ul></ul></ul>

When traveling to the States… <ul><li>Always have current business cards, a pen, a small pad of paper, a pack of gum/mints </li></ul><ul><li>(to share) </li></ul><ul><li>Change of clothes in carry on </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Lost luggage = uncomfortable traveling clothes during business presentations and immediate expenses to replace any necessary items. </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Tax forms to complete for reimbursement of taxes paid in business travel </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Even as a small amount it may be handy to know where the ‘extra’ money went on the trip. </li></ul></ul>

Know where your commissions are… <ul><li>Expenses not covered by the company on items that can’t be used after, are your responsibility. </li></ul><ul><li>Your accountant wasn’t on the trip with you, neither was the auditor </li></ul><ul><li>Receipts get lost and Day timers may not have all the details, try to stay current </li></ul><ul><li>The Accounting department has several people to maintain after a business conference, be First IN to be First OUT (paid), understand their time </li></ul><ul><li>No one wins with high interest, low interest cards travel well, paid as soon as you can. Rotate with credit lines to keep balances manageable. </li></ul>
