  1. 2. <ul><li>There are many different genres in music, one of which I need to pick in order to help find the conventions to base my music video on. </li></ul><ul><li>In this presentation I will go through favoured genres and pick the one I feel will work best. </li></ul>
  2. 3. <ul><li>A popular American style which originated from Southern United States in the 1920 ’s </li></ul><ul><li>Many sub-categories to country music e.g. country western, country pop, country rock. </li></ul><ul><li>Well known country artist are people such as; Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton and Billy Ray Cyrus. </li></ul>

  4. 5. <ul><li>R&B originated in the 1940’s and is a genre of popular african american music </li></ul><ul><li>the term &quot;R&B&quot; became used to refer to music styles that incorporated electric blues, as well as gospel and soul music. By the 1970s, rhythm and blues was used as a term for soul and funk. In the 1980s, a newer style of R&B developed, becoming known as &quot;Contemporary R&B&quot;. </li></ul>
