Choosing File Tipe

When you want to save a file on MS Paint you must choose one of these options:

24 bits bitmap (.bmp): Windows bitmaps

256 colours bitmap (.bmp): Windows bitmaps

16 colours bitmap (.bmp): Windows bitmaps

Monochromatic bitmap (.bmp): Windows bitmaps

JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg): JPEB bitmaps

GIF (.gif): CompuServe bitmaps

TIFF (.tif, .tiff): TIFF bitmaps

PNG (.png): PNG bitmaps

How do Modes work

24 bits: high definition pictures: photos, draws.

256 colours: palette of complementary colours.

16 colours: primary and secondary colours, two greys, black and white.

Monochromatic: black and white.

JPEG, GIF: send works to web sites.

Conclusion It is necessary more than attemptable observation to differenciate the original illustration made in bitmap (.bmp) from the second drawing (edited in .jpg). At the first look, all of them seems the same. But, if you compare the file sizes you will understand the differences. As long as .bmp file size is 207 kb, the .jpg files size is 167 kb. Here is the difference.
