MS Paint Techniques #3 Personalize your Colours (A) - Presentation Transcript

  1. MS Paint - Series -Techno -Photos by Zuateg Techniques # 03 Personalize your Colours : Part I
  2. Exercise on 16 Colours Mode The usual use of the 16 colours palette results on a flat, smooth, too much regular work. You can create some patterns of reticulations that will differentiate it. Shadow areas. Projections. Characteristics of na individual drawing.
  3. Menu “exibit” - Option “zoom”/ Choose:”8x” -Option: ”Show grid” When you see the bitmap grid you are seeing the very soul of MS Paint. Each space is the minimal part of your drawing. Here you will create your personal patterns of reticulation. The next step is menu “Edit”, option “copy”. With this, your pattern is going to transfer area. Again, you go to “Edit”, option “paste”. Each time you click “paste” your patterns appear on the screen. Put them side by side. Save. Click ever the screen to return normal size.
  4. Five Reticulation Patterns He Here you see ten patterns of reticulation. The circles below show 8x zooms of the patterns I had defined to modify the basic 16 colours Palette. The next step is apply these patterns on the basic 16 colours palette.
  5. Testing: Digital Art is Test Test your patterns. Go to the tool “Select”. With the cursor you select each one of the patterns and drag it over the colours. You can like or dislide what you see. If the result is not good try again. You can create numberless personal solutions just over 16 colours. Magic?
  6. Testing Red. Observe as I dragged the red reticulation over all the 16 colours. The starting point is menu “Edit”. Option “Copy”. Then I go again to menu “Edit”. Option “Paste”. I paste 16 times and drag the pattern over the palette colour.
  7. Testing Yellow The left column shows my five options on reticulation. I’ve had tested the red one. Now, we are testing the yellow pattern. It is a good job make tests with each one of our reticulations. MS Paint isn’t that easy. See you?
  8. Ornamental Fish One of my first works. Only God knows how much tests I’ve made with reticulations patterns to obtain a result like this.
  9. Sea Sunset The waves. After creating the pattern, it was applied over the background. Just one difference, but it personalize your job. I tryed to keep the center on the Sun.
  10. A Man - Variations
  11. Other Men Some illustrations showed here were finished on 256 colours palette. But this fact do not change the idea of personalizing our drawings. It is current to iniciate on B&W, go after to 16c. And finish on 256c, or 24 bits.
  12. Next Step: Personalize... - Part II
    • When you see an illustration finished, with
    • all that background colours and reticulations, you
    • don’t imagine the steps, masks, layers we
    • have to do on the way.
    • Next slideshow we will take slide #2 (the flat woman figure) and show to you all steps necessary to make it a personal work.
    • Not uneasy, ardous, painful.
    • But some tricks are wellcome. See you at once.
