  • 12. Citrus health benefits Oranges , lemons and citrus are the most favourite fruit in the world. Being a rich source of nutrients, they have been associated with a number of health and nutrition benefits. They are loaded with vitamins and the most abundant is Vitamin C. This powerful vitamin protects our body against harmful elements. Beta-carotene, a nutrient present in oranges, is a very powerful antioxidant that protects our cells from damage. The folic acid present in oranges helps in proper brain development. The high content of potassium in citrus helps maintain electrolyte balance in the cells and also aids the maintenance of a healthy cardiovascular system.
