Representation During West's line "This is bad, real bad: Michael Jackson", Hilson is shown mouthing the lyrics and grabbing her crotch in a Jackson-esque manner. The lines were referring to Michael Jackson's song "Bad". The jewellery (bling) and expensive shoes worn by the artists in the music video represents the wealth and high status. These are the conventions of R&B and Hip-hop. All three mainstream artists are represented as high status and portrayed as successful people with a lot of money.
Institutions Keri Hilson is signed to the label Interscope. Kanye West is signed to the label GOOD Music, Roc-A-Fella and Def Jam. Ne-yo is signed to the label Def Jam. The music video is incredibly well-known because all three artists are loved celebrities by their fans, which will allow the audience to see that one of their best artist is in the video, so they should watch it and that has took on to affect to many people in the audience as the music video on YouTube has been viewed by an outstanding 25,797,717 people. The music channel that plays this video would be MTV, MTV BASE, KISS. This would be because these are the channels that are known world- wide and is most viewed than any other music channel.
Audiences The target audience for this video would be the people who enjoy listening R&B and Hip-hop. It would be also targeted to people that can relate to the narrative in the music video. Another target audience would be the fans of either of the artists in the video. The theory that goes for this video I would say is The Hypodermic Needle Theory this is because it illustrates the relationship the audience have with the music video. Polysemic reading of text , it could be argued that the female character is in control and empowered of the situation and the two male characters, which suggests the post feminist music video . However ambiguous ending to the video may portray that she is confused rather than being empowering.

Snoop Dog’s clothing in the video is a convention of a hip hop and R&B music video, he wearing a customised hoody and a cap, which is traditional in the hip hop culture to have your name on every accessory, whether it being a car, clothing blinged out jewellery. Scherzinger, in one dance sequence in the second verse, uses a chair as a prop. On the chorus, five additional chairs appear in the scene, and five of the members of the group appear, and the dance continues

Tinchy Stryder Kwasi Danquah (born 10 June 1987), better known by his stage name Tinchy Stryder , is a British pop rap vocalist of Ghanaian origin. Stryder is from Bow, East London. He had his first UK number one in the UK Top 40 Show (shown on MTV/4Music) with the song named, "Take Me Back", (a collaboration with Taio Cruz) which rose 3 places for one week. He then swiftly overtook this song by releasing the aptly named song "Number 1", (a collaboration with N-Dubz) that charted on 26 April 2009. The debut album by Tinchy Stryder, Star in the Hood , was released on 13 August 2007 on Takeover Entertainment. His next single, called "Stryderman" was released and became his first single to chart in the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number 73. The song was the first single taken from his second studio album Catch 22 .

The Equipment Used For The Production Of The Music Video The Tri Caster Studio, We used the Tri Caster to help with the filming the green screen, with added effects. We used the camcorder ‘ Sony 108iHD’ for the filming of the green screen, this camcorder is not an ordinary camera it has a green light around the lens of the camera. This is because it allows the background of the green screen to be one colour. The Tri Pod allowed the camera to stay still when filming so the shots would look professional and not shaky and also it has wheels at the bottom which makes things easier as we could move the camera without no hassle.

Production Log <ul><li>Monday 12th October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>- On the 14 th October during 12:25pm till 13:25pm, Tri-caster workshop will take place in the Brent CLC. </li></ul><ul><li>Thought of questions to ask the teacher, when learning how to work the Tri-caster. </li></ul><ul><li>Ask people for ‘Star in the Hood’ logo t-shirt. </li></ul><ul><li>Find appropriate props such as new era caps, chains, sunglasses etc. to create a conventional image of Hip-hop and RnB music video. </li></ul><ul><li>Wednesday 14 th October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>Went to the Tri -caster workshop in the Brent CLC. </li></ul><ul><li>Assigned roles in our group of the Director, Producer and the camera man. I’m the producer, Anisa is the Director and Jenil is the Camera man. </li></ul><ul><li>Downloaded the Mp3 version of song. </li></ul><ul><li>Discussed the setting/ locations, we came to the conclusion of the park ‘King Eddies’ ; the Café ‘London Lunch Box’ and then the green screen. </li></ul><ul><li>We then decided on when we will start the filming and deciding we should do it on the Sunday the same week, this is was to film in the park, However we had a plan B were we decided if the weather is not on our side and it starts to rain then we wouldn’t waste our day, we would film in the café near the park. </li></ul><ul><li>We decided to film the two main actors in the park. </li></ul><ul><li>Monday 19 th October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>In the CLC we had a hour session with a technician that taught us how to work the green screen and what to use and what not to use. This made us gain a better understanding of how to make the thoughts in our mind come alive. </li></ul><ul><li>Wednesday 21 st October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>To start our green screening off we had booked a 3 hour filming session for Thursday 22 nd October 2009, and advised our actors (Emmanuel and Roshane) to come at the time of 1.30pm till 5.30pm. </li></ul><ul><li>Thursday 22 nd October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>- Everyone arrived on time for the 3 hour green screening session, Although it was hard for us to get the actors to concentrate and not get distracted, the outcome of the session was good as we got good shots. </li></ul>
<ul><li>Monday 26 th October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>In our 2 hour lesson we did feedback on our filming and realised we need more footage so we arranged to film on the following Saturday (31 st ) however due to the actors having responsibilities else where we had to re schedule the shooting to alternative date that suited everybody. Meanwhile we were working on our planning and research presentations. </li></ul><ul><li>Thursday 19 th October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>Anisa had arranged with both actors to film in their free lessons. And that was on the Friday 20 th November at 8.30 am. However we came across a problem, as the media department didn’t have a Camcorder or the Tri pod available, we had to ask the drama department if we could use their camcorder and fortunately for us the agreed to lend us both the camera and tri pod. </li></ul><ul><li>Friday 20 th November October 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>- At 8.30am we collected the camcorder from the drama department and filmed some decent (useable) footage for the music video at the location of King Edwards park. </li></ul>
