    2. Definition of PODCAST
A podcast is a series of audio or video digital media files which is distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers.
Though the same content may also be made available by direct download or streaming, a podcast is distinguished from most other digital media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added.

    6. What Can I Record?
      Solo – monologue
      In person interview
Long distance interview (via skype) Recording and mixing of skype calls is a tricky process as the person on the other end needs to be able to hear you but not hear themselves back through your connection. We use the mix minus technique through our mixer – make sure your mixer can handle this before you buy.
a mix-minus is a particular setup of a mixing console, such that the output to a certain device contains everything except the input from that device. This prevents echoes or feedback from reverberating or howling and squealing through the broadcast or sound reinforcement system.

    7. Editing
      Tedious Process but sometimes necessary.
For perfection you should edit out ‘umms’ ‘errr’s and ensure that the audio flows well and sounds professional.
Mix in an intro and an outro.
Don’t let the intro and sound effects be louder than the voices. Good idea to normalise the audio in the editing process.
    8. Uploading
Utilise free servers or can use existing space on your current host. Will need to check with your host if it is OK to provide podcasts for download.

    9. Create/update RSS Feed
RSS is format used to publish frequently updated works—such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video.
RSS feeds benefit publishers by letting them syndicate content automatically. They benefit readers who want to subscribe to timely updates from favoured websites.
RSS feeds can be read using software called an "RSS reader“ which is essentially what iTunes does.
The RSS reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new work, downloads any updates that it finds.
