  • THE FRUITS OF TRUE REPENTANCE Part 3 Mathew 3: 8 to 12
    • Components of True Repentance: 1.) Intellectual 2.) Emotional 3.) Volitional (will)
  • 2.) The Confrontation “. . . he said unto them, Ye offspring of vipers , who warned you to flee from the wrath to come ? “ vs. 7 1.) The Congregation “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism . . . “ vs. 7
  • 3.) The Condemnation vs 8 - Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: vs. 9 - And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. vs. 10 - And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

The Conflagration vs.10 - And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. vs. 11- Indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: vs. 12 - Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

  • Judgement is always associated with fire in the Bible “ But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:8 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels - Mathew 25:41

  • “ I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! 50 I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against sonand son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law. – Luke 12:49-53
