    3. What is a Social Network Service?
      A social network service or SNS connects people who share interests and activities, or who are interested in exploring the interests and activities of others to build online communities.
      Social network services are usually web-based.
      Social networking services allow users to create a profile for themselves and provide a variety of ways to interact with other people e.g. instant messenger, e-mail etc.
      Services like blogging, discussion groups and file sharing are also available in SNS.
      Most common SNS are Facebook, Myspace, Orkut, Twitter and YouTube etc.

    4. Social networking services are of two types:
      Internal social networking (ISN):
      An ISN is a closed/private community that consists of a group of people within a company, association, society, organization etc. e.g. ARPANET.
      External social networking (ESN):
      An ESN is open or public and available to all web users in the world to communicate e.g. Facebook, deviantart, myspace etc.
      Both types can increase the feeling of community among people.

      You become a member of that person’s network and that person becomes a member of your network.
      All of your activities and your friend’s activities will be shared among you and your friends.
      You can also join discussion groups or communities in similar way.
