  17.  Origin of Ka’abah  The great Flood of the Prophet Nuh’s a.s. period  Prophet Ibrahim a.s. – an exemplary Muslim.  Significance of Bakkah (ancient name of Makkah) – History of its founding related to the blessed family of Prophet Ibrahim a.s. (Biblical Abraham). All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  18. Genesis 21: 18-21 “... And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar ? Fear not; for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him fast with your hand; for I will make him a great nation.” Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink. And God was with the lad, and he grew up; he lived in the wilderness, and became an expert with the bow. He lived in the wilderness of Paran...” All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  19. IMPORTANT NOTE: “MAKKAH is in PARAN” Regarding: Genesis 21: 18-21  To Muslims, the above (Genesis 21: 18-21) relates to the history of the beginning of Makkah, with the tribulation of the family of Prophet Ibrahim a.s.- Hajar and his first-born infant Isma’il a.s. After Hajar had frantically ran between the two hillocks of Safa and Marwa whilst at the same time supplicating to Allah s.w.t. in search of water, they were bestowed with the well of zam-zam. This is the SA’IE, one of the rites re-enacted till today by pilgrims. And beside the well of zam-zam, Prophets Ibrahim and Isma’il a.s. were later shown the foundation of the oldest house of worship upon which they rebuild the Ka’bah. 20. IMPORTANT NOTE: The“Qiblah” - direction All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  21. IMPORTANT NOTE: The“Qiblah” - direction “And, lo, Abraham prayed: "O my Sustainer! Make this (Makkah) a land secure, and grant its people fruitful sustenance - such of them as believe in God and the Last Day." [God] answered: "And whoever shall deny the truth, him will I let enjoy himself for a short while -but in the end I shall drive him to suffering through fire: and how vile a journey's end!" (Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 126) All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  22. IMPORTANT NOTE: The“Qiblah” - direction “And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the Temple (al-Bayt), [they prayed:] "O our Sustainer! Accept Thou this from us: for, verily, Thou alone art all-hearing, all-knowing!” (Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 127) All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  23. IMPORTANT NOTE: The“Qiblah” - direction All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  24. IMPORTANT NOTE: “Qiblah” in the Bible  1 Kings viii 46-49 - “ ... and pray to Thee toward their land which Thou gavest to their fathers, the city which Thou has chosen, and the house which I have built for Thy name”;  Psalm xxviii 2 – “Hear the voice of my supplication, as I cry to Thee for help, as I lift up my hands toward Thy most Holy Sanctuary.”; All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  25. IMPORTANT NOTE: “Qiblah” in the Bible Regarding: 1 Kings viii 46-49 ; Psalm xxviii 2 Biblical Prophets always had a certain direction in their worship - Qiblah, usually towards a house of worship consecrated in the name of God. Prophet Sulaiman (Solomon) a.s. had built such a temple in Jerusalem, and the Bani Isra’il while in captivity in Babylon would turn their faces towards Jerusalem, even after the destruction of this temple. All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  26. IMPORTANT NOTE: “Qiblah” in the Bible Regarding: 1 Kings viii 46-49 ; Psalm xxviii 2 For Muslims, who at one time faced towards the same Qiblah (direction towards Jerusalem for worship), Allah s.w.t. had later redirected their Qiblah to the Ka’bah rebuilt by Ibrahim and Isma’il a.s. (the oldest house of worship ever built on earth). From then on, billions have turned their faces towards this spot on earth, daily without fail - drawn by the force of faith in the One True God. All Rights Reserved© Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (2013)
  27. IMPORTANT NOTE: “Qiblah” in the Bible Regarding: 1 Kings viii 46-49 ; Psalm xxviii 2 This, indeed, is a miracle for those who would reflect, for no other religion, organizer of events nor any earthly power has been able to do likewise (swolah-prayer and Hajj) in this unification of purpose, transcending all differences, save the consciousness of Allah. ...
