    23. “ Verily, in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example for everyone who looks forward (with hope and awe) to Allah and the Last day, and who engages in the remembrance of Allah unceasingly.” ( Qur’an: Al-Ahzab : 33 : 21 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    24. <ul><li>“ Imitation (or copying, emulating someone) is the sincerest form of flattery (praise)!” is an English proverb. </li></ul><ul><li>It reveals an obvious truth which we should consider, whether we have acted truthfully and sincerely, when we regard our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. as the best of Allah’s creation ( khayr-al-khal-qil-lah ). </li></ul><ul><li>He, whose name is “ the praised one ”, indeed is praised by Allah, the Creator of every creation: </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]

    26. <ul><li>Therefore ultimately it is in the Prophet Muhammad’s noble akhlaq that we must strive to imitate and instil in ourselves. </li></ul><ul><li>Mere outward conformity alone can lead to hypocrisy ( nifaq ) or ostentatious ( riya ’ ) or even conceit (‘ ujub ). We seek refuge in Allah s.w.t. from being afflicted by these evil traits. </li></ul>NOTE: All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    27. <ul><li>The inner cleansing ( tazkiyya al-nafs ) and constancy ( istiqomah ) in striving ( mujaahada ), with seeking Allah’s Taufiq and Guidance, is crucial. </li></ul><ul><li>Thus, apart from having correct belief ( Aqeedah ) , conforming with correct ‘Amaliyyah (outward deeds) we also require inculcation of noble disposition ( akhlaq al-kareema ). </li></ul>NOTE: All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]

    34. <ul><li>It is to strive to be included amongst those referred to as the “ Ashaabul-yameen ” . </li></ul>Al-Habib ‘Abdullah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad ’’s advice as to the ways of our pious predecessors ( Salafus-soleh ) and ‘ulama-al-’amilin , is of : “ For the companions of the Right Hand. A (goodly) number from those of old ― And a (goodly) number from those of later times.” ( Qur’an: al-Waqi-’ah: 56: 38-40 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    35. <ul><li>This is to be contrasted from a very elite and very special group of Believers mentioned by Allah, but which will become very rare indeed in later times. </li></ul><ul><li>We, in all humility, will not dare to claim to be in this group, whose Tariqah (spiritual ways) are chosen for them by Allah .     37. <ul><li>Who is this group? Allah says: </li></ul>Al-Habib ‘Abdullah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad ’’s advice as to the ways of our pious predecessors ( Salafus-soleh ) and ‘ulama-al-’amilin , is of : “ And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).These will be those Nearest to Allah: In Gardens of Bliss: A number of people from those of old.     38. <ul><li>We do not claim exclusivity (as being the Foremost ) but rather we hope that we be included by firstly Allah SWT into the general category of Believers ( ahlul yameen – people of the right hand) mentioned by Him in Qur’an Surah al-Waqi’ah , whose number will be much in our time. </li></ul><ul><li>It is Allah Who will acknowledge and chooses those who are “ Foremost ” amongst His devotees. </li></ul>Al-Habib ‘Abdullah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad ’’s advice as to the ways of our pious predecessors ( Salafus-soleh ) and ‘ulama-al-’amilin , is of : All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    39. <ul><li>Who are we, honestly?     40. <ul><li>This categories “ al-Muqorrabun ” (those nearest to God), “ ahlul-yameen ” (people of the right hand) - in fact, is generic which is inclusive and is a preferred category than that which were actually coined by people viz.     43. “ Allah and His angels, send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! send ye blessings on him and salute him, with all respect (with a worthy salutation).” ( Qur’an: Ahzab: 33: 56 ) All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    44. <ul><li>Amongst the commandments of Allah s.w.t. in the Qur’an, “giving Solawat and Salam ” is unique and indeed very special. </li></ul><ul><li>We do not claim to fully know the wisdom and benefit of it, but certainly this invoking Allah’s blessing upon Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. has considerable benefits for us when Allah commands us. </li></ul><ul><li>And there are many Ahadith regarding it’s benefits ( Fadhaa-il ). </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011]
    45. <ul><li>Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said: </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011] “ Say the ‘ Solawat ’ (invocation of Allah’s blessing for me as Allah commands) for your ‘ Solawat ’ shall be Zakah (a purification and spiritual growth) for your own selves.” ( Hadith reported by Ibn Mardaweh in, Al-Jami’ )
    46. <ul><li>Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said: </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011] “ Whosoever say ‘ solawat ’ upon me once, Allah will say ‘ solawat ’ upon him ten times.” ( Hadith reported by Muslim )
    47. <ul><li>Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. said: </li></ul>All Rights Reserved © Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail [2011] “ Verily Allah, Most Exalted, has angels who are commanded to roam and observe the people on earth. They will convey to me all the ‘ salams ’ from people of my community.” ( Hadith reported by Ahmad, An-Nasa-i, and Ad-Darimiy )
