    1. Presentation by: Ustaz Zhulkeflee Hj Ismail (PERGAS) FARDHU’AIN : CONDUCTED BY USTAZ ZHULKEFLEE HJ ISMAIL LESSONS FROM TEXTBOOK “ Beginners’ Manual on Islam ” AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •   Behold thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said "Wilt thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood? Whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?"
      • He (Allah) said: "I know what ye know not."
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Baqarah: 2: 30)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • Reflection:
      • Allah wishes to honour mankind over the Angels, despite the fact that mankind may also be capable of mischief and shedding blood. Whereas the angels are pure and in constant devotion to Allah, yet it is mankind that was chosen.

      • Does it therefore meant that all of mankind would deserve the honour in perpetuity (forever)?

      • Does it therefore meant that all of mankind would deserve the honour in perpetuity (forever)?
      • Justice would demand that there should be some basis or reason for their deserving it.
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •    It is We who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give!  It is We who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels prostrate to Adam, and they prostrated, not so Iblis; he refused to be of those who bow down.
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-A’raf: 7: 10-11)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •   (Allah) said: "what prevented thee from bowing down when I commanded thee?" He said: "I am better than he: thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay."
      •   (Allah) said: "Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures).”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-A’raf: 7: 12-13)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •    He said: "Give me respite till the day they are raised up.“  (Allah) said: "Be thou amongst those who have respite.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-A’raf: 7: 14-15)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •   He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the Way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on Thy straight Way.  "Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: nor wilt Thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for Thy mercies).  (Allah) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee Hell will I fill with you all.
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-A’raf: 7: 16-18)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • Reflection:
      • Mankind’s test began when Iblis , after being accursed by Allah, requested to be given the opportunity to tempt mankind. He was infact challenging Allah’s Justice & Wisdom.
      • His arrogance and enmity towards Adam a.s. and all of mankind, became a cause, for which Allah puts us all, mankind as well as the jinn , to a test on this temporary life on earth.

      • His arrogance and enmity towards Adam a.s. and all of mankind, became a cause, for which Allah puts us all, mankind as well as the jinn , to a test on this temporary life on earth.
      • Reward and punishment, surely would be for those who deserves – not granted arbitrarily.
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • Then did Satan make them slip from the (Garden) and get them out of the state (of felicity) in which they had been. We said: "Get ye down all (ye people) with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling place and your means of livelihood for a time."
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Baqarah: 2: 36)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      •   Then learnt Adam from his Lord words of inspiration and his Lord turned toward him; for He is Oft-Returning Most Merciful.  We said: "Get ye down all from here; and if, as is sure, there comes to you guidance from Me" whosoever follows My guidance on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.  "But those who reject Faith and belie Our Signs, they shall be Companions of the Fire; they shall abide therein."
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Baqarah 2: 37-39)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
    2. A TEMPORARY PLACE FOR THE TEST – IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALLAH’S JUSTICE, AS WELL AS TO MANIFEST ALLAH’S INFINITE MERCY AND FORGIVING ATTRIBUTES. AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “  Hallowed be He (Allah) in whose hand all dominion rests, since He has the power to will anything: He Who created death as well as life, so that He might put you to a test [and thus show] which of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that] He alone is almighty, truly forgiving.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Mulk: 67: 1-2)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “  Say: ‘O my servants who have transgressed against their own souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Turn ye to your Lord (in repentance) and bow to His [Will], before the Penalty comes on you: After that ye shall not be helped.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah az-Zumar: 39: 53-54)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “ O ye who believe! enter into Islam whole-heartedly (fully); and follow not the footsteps of the Evil One; for he is to you an avowed enemy.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Baqarah: 2: 208)
      •
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “ O ye who believe! (Be conscious of and ) Fear Allah and let every soul look to what (provision) he has sent forth for the morrow. Yea, (be conscious of and) fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.  And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He made them forget their own souls! such are the rebellious transgressors!  Not equal are the Companions of the Fire and the Companions of the Garden: it is the Companions of the Garden, that will achieve Felicity.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Hashr: 59: 18-20)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
    3. Sceptics may argue: “How can someone that has died, rotted and dispersed like dust can be resurrected back again?” – But, they conveniently forget about how they (that someone) were created in the first instance. AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “  Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth? Then he became a clot; then Allah shaped and fashioned, and made of him a pair, the male and female? Is not He (Who does so) able to bring the dead to life?”
      • (Qur’an: Surah al-Qiyamah: 75: 37-40)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “  And he coineth Us a similitude and hath forgotten the fact of his creation saying: ‘Who shall revive these bones when they have rotted away?’ Say: ‘He (Allah) will revive them, Who produced them at the first (instance), for He is Knower of every creation.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah Ya-Seen: 36: 78-79)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • “  He (Allah) it is Who produces creation (in the first instance), then reproduced it, and it is easier for Him (to raise the dead). His, is the sublime similitude in the heavens and in the earth, He is the Mighty, the Wise.”
      • (Qur’an: Surah Rum: 30: 27)
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • For us who already accept that our existence owes itself to a Creator, belief in the resurrection is a corollary to this present life.
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • For us who already accept that our existence owes itself to a Creator, belief in the resurrection is a corollary to this present life.
      • It is not difficult to accept the possibility of resurrection since we are already convinced that our existence is created by Allah – Who also informed us of what is to come after death.
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • Those who are doubtful of it should first seek to explain how their present existence came about, in the first place.
      AllRightsReserved©ZhulkefleeHjIsmail2009
      • Those who are doubtful of it should first seek to explain how their present existence came about, in the first place.
      • Until then, it is beyond their capacity to theorise about what will happen after their death.
