  2. 2. Teeth begin to take shape when the child is about 7-9 months old. They will function upto the age of 7-9 yrs the are called “Pala Pallu” they are replaced by stronger teeth till about 80-90 yrs. Elders say after 100 yrs again new teeth will come.
  3. 3. Ancient Indian life sciences gave lot of importance to teeth as they are integral part from 1 yr to 90 yrs age of a person. With out teeth swallowing, chewing, assimilation of food is very difficult. Ayurveda use to mention as “Dantasiri” means
  4. 4. Dental property. Yes it is a very vital property and needs to be protected by one and all. Can you imagine your life without teeth or teeth not functioning. You can enjoy your food. Even if you take it is not digested properly.

  9. 9. How our elders use to clean teeth with powder made of cow dung ash, Pacha Kapoor, Dalchini, Elachi, Tulsi, Neem etc. they also used neem twig. They use to clean with salt & warm water 2-3 times a week
  10. 10. If your mouth is healthy you will be healthy as per Ayurveda . Mouth harbours many micro organisms . If we don’t clean it properly teeth & gums are spoiled. That leads to many diseases . Tips for good oral health .
  11. 11. <ul><li>Clean your teeth 2 times a day in the morning & in the night before going to bed. </li></ul><ul><li>Clean with Triphala Churna, Neem Twig </li></ul><ul><li>Pastes & Gels are no good </li></ul><ul><li>Chew 2 Spoons of black Til seeds in the morning </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>Eating Sugar cane, Carrot, Apple etc. daily is good for teeth </li></ul><ul><li>Massage teeth, gums daily with warm til oil & Triphala </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid excess carbohydrates , sweets in daily food </li></ul><ul><li>Avoid very hot & very cold foods </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>After eating breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks gargle mouth thoroughly with warm salt water or Triphala kashayam </li></ul><ul><li>Use finger instead of brush to clean teeth & gums which will put even pressure. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>After food use Ela, Lavang, Jajikaya, Tulasi, Mint leaves as mouth freshener </li></ul><ul><li>Drink water periodically for good oral health </li></ul><ul><li>For mild pain use lavang oil </li></ul><ul><li>For yellow teeth Lime, salt, Triphala 2 times / day for 21 days </li></ul>
