The state of man in the earth at the very end 12 08-11

  1. 1. “THE STATE OF MAN IN THEEARTH AT THE VERY END”
  2. 2. “The cause of God needs men and women who will stand on the platform of truth without wavering, and who will hold the banner of truth firmly aloft, so that no man can fail to see on which side they are standing. Their position is to be clearly defined. Their hearts are to be pure and holy, free from pretense or deception…. You may show to the world that the truth which you profess sanctifies and ennobles the character and leads to industry and frugality, while it avoids avarice, overreaching, and every species of dishonesty. In your words manifest patience and forbearance, and you may every day be preaching a sermon upon the power of truth and do effectual service to the cause of God. Let no one say that the truth you profess makes you no different from the worldling. . . . Do not give the least occasion for anyone to speak ill of your faith because you are not sanctified through the truth”. Higher Calling pg.32
  3. 3. [1] The scriptures gives us an analysis of theexperience{spirit} of men in the earth just beforeit is destroyed. Their constant rejection of theSpirit of God which brings revealed truths{faith}to the minds of men, brings them as in the time ofNoah as God said “My Spirit will not alwaysstrive with men…”Gen.6:3.“And God looked upon the earth, and, behold itwas corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his wayupon the earth.{13}And God said unto Noah, Theend of all flesh is come before me; for the earth isfilled with violence through them, and, behold,I will destroy them with the earth .”Gen.6:12,13.
  4. 4. Amos 8:11-13 “Behold the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:{12}And they shall wander from sea to sea,, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.{13}In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.”
  5. 5. {2}The words of Jesus as it relates to spiritual bread and water represents the following:[a]Jesus said that he is the bread of life:Jn.6:33,35,50,51,53-59 “For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world…[35]And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst…[50]This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that man may eat thereof, and not die.[51]I am the living bread which came down from heaven: If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
  6. 6. Jn.6:53-59 “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, Verily , I said unto you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood , you have no life in you.[54]Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.[55]For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink in deed.[56]He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.[57]As the living father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.[58]This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live forever.[59]These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.”
  7. 7. [b]The Holy Spirit is the “Water” given by Jesus:Mt.3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”Jn.7:37-39 “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.[38]He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.[39](But this he spake of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
  8. 8. Acts.2:38,39 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.[39]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
  9. 9. {3}Therefore there is a time coming when the knowledge of the doing and dying of Jesus which is revealed by the Holy Spirit known as {Faith} will not be in the earth. This is known as spiritual famine.{4}A “spiritual famine” in a nation means “a faithless nation” or “sinful nation”:Rom.10:8,17 “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;…[17]So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”Rom.14:23 “And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”
  10. 10. Rom.1:16,17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”Pro.14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
  11. 11. {5}A sinful nation changes the knowledge of God into idolatrous lies:Rom.1:21-23 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened.[22]Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,[23]And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four- footed beasts, and creeping things.”
  12. 12. Rom.1:25,28-32 “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever, amen…[28]and as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;[29]Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit malignity; whispers;[30]Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,[31]without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:[32]Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
  13. 13. {6} The time is coming when with spiritual famine in the earth, the true God will be sought after but will not be found:{Amos 8:12 “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.”Dan. 12:4 “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”}
  14. 14. Mat. 24:5, 23-26 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many…[23]Then if any man shall say unto you, lo, here is Christ ,or there; believe it not.[24]For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible , they shall deceive the very elect.[25]Behold I have told you before.[26]Wherefore if they shall say unto you, behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.”
  15. 15. {7} The act of wandering gives a knowledge of imprisonment for wrong doing or lawlessness:Num.14:33,34 “And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.[34]After the number of the days in which you searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall you bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you shall know my breach of promise.”
  16. 16. Ps.107:40 “He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.”Jb.15:23 “ He wandereth abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.”Pro.21:16 “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.”
  17. 17. {8} Virgin and young men gives the knowledge of one in innocence, not exposed to the subtly of error:1Cor.11:1-3 “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.[2]Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you.[3]But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of every woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”
  18. 18. {9} Amidst all this spiritual and physical famine, God’s people will be taken cared of:Isa.33:14-18 “The sinners of Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with the everlasting burnings?[15]He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hand from taking of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;…
  19. 19. Isa. 33:16-18 “…He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.[17]Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.[18]Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? Where is the receiver? Where is he that counted the towers?”Isa.41:17,18 “When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.[18]I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry lands springs of water.”
  20. 20. E.W.#281-284 “Then I saw Jesus lay off Hispriestly attire and clothe Himself with Hismost kingly robes. Upon His head weremany crowns, a crown within a crown.Surrounded by the angelic host, He leftheaven. The plagues were falling upon theinhabitants of the earth. Some weredenouncing God and cursing Him. Othersrushed to the people of God and begged tobe taught how they might escape Hisjudgments. But the saints had nothing forthem….
  21. 21. …The last tear for sinners had beenshed, the last agonizing prayeroffered, the last burden borne, the lastwarning given. The sweet voice ofmercy was no more to invite them. When the saints, and all heaven, wereinterested for their salvation, they hadno interest for themselves. Life anddeath had been set before them. Manydesired life, but made no effort toobtain it….
  22. 22. …They did not choose life, and now therewas no atoning blood to cleanse the guilty,no compassionate Saviour to plead forthem, and cry, "Spare, spare the sinner alittle longer." All heaven had united withJesus, as they heard the fearful words, "It isdone. It is finished." The plan of salvationhad been accomplished, but few had chosento accept it. And as mercys sweet voicedied away, fear and horror seized thewicked. With terrible distinctness theyheard the words, "Too late! too late!"
  23. 23. …Those who had not prized Gods Word werehurrying to and fro, wandering from sea to sea,and from the north to the east, to seek the Wordof the Lord. Said the angel, "They shall not findit. There is a famine in the land; not a famine ofbread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing thewords of the Lord. What would they not give forone word of approval from God! but no, theymust hunger and thirst on. Day after day havethey slighted salvation, prizing earthly richesand earthly pleasure higher than any heavenlytreasure or inducement. They have rejectedJesus and despised His saints. The filthy mustremain filthy forever.“…
  24. 24. …Many of the wicked were greatlyenraged as they suffered the effects of theplagues. It was a scene of fearful agony.Parents were bitterly reproaching theirchildren, and children their parents, brothers their sisters, and sisters theirbrothers. Loud, wailing cries were heardin every direction, "It was you who keptme from receiving the truth whichwould have saved me from this awfulhour.“…
  25. 25. …The people turned upon their ministerswith bitter hate and reproached them, saying, "You have not warned us. You toldus that all the world was to be converted, and cried, Peace, peace, to quiet every fearthat was aroused. You have not told us ofthis hour; and those who warned us of ityou declared to be fanatics and evil men,who would ruin us." But I saw that theministers did not escape the wrath of God.Their suffering was tenfold greater thanthat of their people….
  26. 26. … I saw the saints leaving the citiesand villages, and associatingtogether in companies, and livingin the most solitary places. Angelsprovided them food and water, while the wicked were sufferingfrom hunger and thirst. Then I sawthe leading men of the earthconsulting together, and Satan andhis angels busy around them…
  27. 27. …I saw a writing, copies of which werescattered in different parts of the land, giving orders that unless the saintsshould yield their peculiar faith, give upthe Sabbath, and observe the first day ofthe week, the people were at liberty aftera certain time to put them to death. Butin this hour of trial the saints were calmand composed, trusting in God andleaning upon His promise that a way ofescape would be made for them….
  28. 28. …In some places, before the time for thedecree to be executed, the wicked rushed uponthe saints to slay them; but angels in the formof men of war fought for them. Satan wishedto have the privilege of destroying the saintsof the Most High; but Jesus bade His angelswatch over them. God would be honored bymaking a covenant with those who had keptHis law, in the sight of the heathen roundabout them; and Jesus would be honored bytranslating, without their seeing death, thefaithful, waiting ones who had so longexpected Him….
  29. 29. …Soon I saw the saints suffering great mentalanguish. They seemed to be surrounded by thewicked inhabitants of the earth. Every appearancewas against them. Some began to fear that God hadat last left them to perish by the hand of the wicked. But if their eyes could have been opened, theywould have seen themselves surrounded by angelsof God. Next came the multitude of the angrywicked, and next a mass of evil angels, hurrying onthe wicked to slay the saints. But before they couldapproach Gods people, the wicked must first passthis company of mighty, holy angels. This wasimpossible. The angels of God were causing them torecede and also causing the evil angels who werepressing around them to fall back….
  30. 30. …It was an hour of fearful, terrible agony to the saints.Day and night they cried unto God for deliverance. Tooutward appearance, there was no possibility of theirescape. The wicked had already begun to triumph, cryingout, "Why doesnt your God deliver you out of our hands? Why dont you go up and save your lives?" But the saintsheeded them not. Like Jacob, they were wrestling withGod. The angels longed to deliver them, but they must waita little longer; the people of God must drink of the cupand be baptized with the baptism. The angels, faithful totheir trust, continued their watch. God would not suffer Hisname to be reproached among the heathen. The time hadnearly come when He was to manifest His mighty powerand gloriously deliver His saints. For His names glory Hewould deliver every one of those who had patientlywaited for Him and whose names were written in thebook. “
  31. 31. G.C. #628-29 “All the judgments upon men, prior to the close of probation, have been mingled with mercy. The pleading blood of Christ has shielded the sinner from receiving the full measure of his guilt; but in the final Judgment, wrath is poured out unmixed with mercy. In that day, multitudes will desire the shelter of Gods mercy which they have so long despised….
  32. 32. …The people of God will not be free from suffering; but while persecuted and distressed, while they endure privation, and suffer for want of food, they will not be left to perish. That God who cared for Elijah will not pass by one of his self-sacrificing children. He who numbers the hairs of their head will care for them, and in time of famine they shall be satisfied…
  33. 33. …While the wicked are dying from hunger and pestilence, angels will shield the righteous, and supply their wants. To him that "walketh righteously" is the promise, "Bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure." "When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them." [ISA. 33:16; 41:17.]
  34. 34. 10. Therefore we are to heed the voice of the Holy Spirit and remain faithful to the end:Lk.21:36 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.”
  35. 35. THE END!
