Flow Presentation Transcript

  • 1.
  • 2. FLOW
    • To move or run smoothly with unbroken continuity, as in the manner characteristic of a fluid.
    • to move as a liquid does; move in a stream, like water
  • 3. Flow of water
  • 4. The river flowed slowly to the  sea.
  • 5. Warmth flows from the sun . "Icy Flow To the Sun"
  • 6. PATTERNS OF FLOW
    • Laminar flow..
    • Turbulent flow..
    • Transitional flow .
  • 7. LAMINAR FLOW
    • Its is a type of smooth and vicouss flow
    • It occurs in parallel layers, straight line.
    • Without any disruption b/w the layers ..
  • 8. EXAMPLES Uninterrupted flow of air over the contour of the wings, fuselage, or other parts of an aircraft in flight The laminar flow in the rearward direction is equal and opposite to the forward momentum acquired by the fish.
  • 9. TUBULENT FLOW
    • In turbulent flow the speed of the fluid at a point is continuously undergoing changes in both magnitude and direction.
    • Type of fluid (gas or liquid) flow in which the fluid undergoes irregular fluctuations, or mixing, in contrast to laminar flow
  • 10. . Turbulent flow mixes much better than laminar flow , so air from above the ground is getting mixed into surface air in the wakes. EXAMPLES Turbulent flow of wind Turbulent flow of lava flow
  • 11. TRANSITIONAL FLOW
    • Transitional flow exhibits characteristics of both laminar and turbulent flow.
