Do we treat people like “resources” or “image bearers of God” ?

During your life….

You’ll drink 15,000 gallons of water During your life…

Your heart will beat 2.5 billion times During your life…

You’ll take enough steps to walk all around the earth twice . During your life…

Did you know? Your nose knows 50,000 different scents….

Did you know? Your body has 62,000 miles of blood vessels…

Did you know? Your scalp has 100,000 hairs… Some people more than others….

Did you know? Your eye can distinguish 500 shades of just the color grey…

Did you know? Your body will produce 300 billion new cells today…

Did you know? You use 200 muscles to take 1 step…

Did you know? You’ll spend two weeks of your life kissing…

Did you know? A baby is, pound for pound stronger than an ox…

Did you know? You’re born with your left lung smaller than your right … to make room for your heart…

Did you know? “ Within 5 months an unborn baby can smile , frown , suck its thumb , and recognize its mother’s voice ”

Did you know? “ You” were the result of the 1 sperm out of 500 million to find the egg .

Do you really think that you aren’t… Special? Extraordinary? Blessed ? Beautiful? Loved?

Every life is a miracle…

You are a miracle…

A. Life is precious because… 1. We bear the image of God (Gen 1:26-27)

B. How can we make life more valuable? 1. We should value life by being slow to anger (Prov. 14:29)

We should be kind to one another (Eph 4:31-32)… Believers are to get rid of six vices: 1. Bitterness 2. Rage 3. Anger 4. Brawling 5. Slander 6. Malice

We should be kind to one another (Eph 4:31-32)… Three positive commands: 1. Be kind 2. Be compassionate 3. Be forgiving

The reason for these positive commands is that in Christ God is kind ( Eph 2:7 ), compassionate ( Mark 1:41 ) and gracious ( Rom 8:32 ) to believers.

B. How can we make life more valuable? 1. We should value life by being slow to anger (Prov. 14:29) 2. We should be kind to one another (Eph 4:31-32) 3. We should defend the afflicted and the needy (Prov. 31:9)

FINAL THOUGHT: Life is precious . Life is a miracle . You are a miracle. “ Therefore, treat every person as a miracle not as a ‘resources’ to be used , used up and cast away but as God’s image bearers .”
