Matthew 7:9-11

Slide 7: If we believe in God as the “Father Almighty,” then we owe him respect and honor.

Slide 8: B. “I believe in God, the Almighty” Father Almighty in the OT translates the Hebrew word Shaddai as in “El Shaddai” (Almighty God)

Slide 9: B. “I believe in God, the Almighty” Father It speaks about God’s unlimited power. He is able to do whatever needs to be done.

Slide 10: Revelations 1:8 “‘I am the Alpha and the Omega,’ says the Lord God, ‘who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.’

Slide 11: Think great thoughts about God. Because it is only those who think great thoughts about God who will attempt great things for When you pray God! and serve God.

Slide 12: For the space of a lifetime, human beings are permitted to ignore God, disobey his laws, and profane his name. God's freedom is infinite, ours is finite. Nevertheless God permits our finite freedom to impinge upon his infinite freedom. He wants us to love him and to obey him, not because we must, but because we wish!

Slide 13: Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

Slide 14: He is Everywhere, Psalm 139: 8-10. If I go up to the heavens, 8 you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

Slide 15: God never change. In Psalm 90:2 we read, “…from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

Slide 16: The first question of the Westminster Confession is: "What is the chief end of human beings?" The answer given is: "To glorify God and to enjoy Him forever!"

Slide 17: God never change.

Slide 18: God knows everything. Remember, our scientists do not invent scientific truth, they discover it.

Slide 19: God knows everything. Psalm 139:1-4 the Psalmist writes, O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. 2You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you 4 know it completely, O LORD.

Slide 20: God knows everything. "His eye is upon the sparrow!" (Matt. 6:26) "the hairs of our very heads are numbered." (Matt. 10:30)

Slide 21: So you have two words put together in the Apostles’ Creed that summarize who God is - one is intimate and personal, the other speaks of his unlimited power. Father means He is the God who cares for me. Almighty means He can do whatever needs to be done for me.
