A ’Crash Course’ (2nd Edition) to get you started with social media and web 2.0 for learning and teaching. Today there are thousands of exciting learning tools to explore, but sadly most teachers do not have the time to explore all, or figure out which ones to use. This presentation (and workshop) focuses on several of the most essential learning tools that we can use to facilitate learning and build an effective personal learning environment and network.

The 2nd edition also includes some new interesting social media infographics, and some useful stats related to Malaysia.

 • "At its heart, connectivism is the thesis that knowledge is distributed across a network of connections, and therefore that learning consists of the ability to construct and traverse those networks. It shares with some other theories a core proposition, that knowledge is not acquired, as though it were a thing. Knowledge is, on this theory, literally the set of connections formed by actions and experience.
