    When employees perceived that they will be unable to perform at a level necessary to obtain rewards, whether extrinsic, they are likely to be de-motivated.
    Reward systems at many organizations are geared toward top performance and ignore mid-level performers.

    People will be motivated when they perceive that they are being treated fairly.
