22. SYNERGY D6 is a sculptable, radiopaque, highlyfilled nano-hybrid composite for restoration of anterior and posterior teeth. The average filler particle size is 0.6 μm with a range of particle sizes from 0.02 to 2.5 μm. The filler content is 80% by weight and 65% by volume. The concept of the six dentin duo shades (D6 designation) is to simplify shade selection. They are created by combining Vita shades with similar color (hue), intensity (chroma) and lightness/ darkness (value). The composite system consists of six dentin duo shades: White Bleach, A1/B1, A2/B2, A3/D3, A3.5/B3, C2/C3, and two enamel shades – Universal and White Opalescent. The composite can be cured with halogen or LED light-curing units. SYNERGY D6 is packaged in kits containing eight, 4-g syringes or 80, 0.25-g unit-dose tips, One Coat Self-Etching Bond, and accessories. SYNERGY D6 is recommended for use with One Coat Self-Etching Bond but is compatible with other comparable adhesives. Twenty-five consultants evaluated SYNERGY D6 in over 500 clinical applications. This product received a 91% clinical rating. synergy
23. Filtek P60 posterior restorative is an esthetic, light cured, radiopaque composite specifically designed for use in posterior direct or indirect restorations. Bonding to tooth structure is accomplished by using a dental adhesive system, such as 3M™ Single Bond or 3M™ Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Adhesive Systems. The restorative is available in a variety of shades and is packaged in traditional syringes. The matrix of this composite is a resin consisting of BIS-GMA (Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether dimethacrylate), UDMA (urethane dimethacrylate), and Bis-EMA (Bisphenol A polyethylene glycol diether dimethacrylate). This light-cured resin is filled with 61% (volume) silica/zirconia. The filler particle size distribution is 0.01 µm to 3.5 µm with an average particle size of 0.6 µm. Filtek P60 exhibits about 25% less volumetric shrinkage upon curing than 3M™ Z100™. An example from the manufacturer shows shrinkage of 1.8% after 5 minutes and 2.0% after 30 minutes; sample geometry will effect actual values. Wet fracture toughness is 1.5 MN/m. The wear rate in an in-vitro 3-body wear test gives 4.0 µLoss/39,000 cycles. Filtek P60
24. 3M™ Filtek™ Z250 universal restorative is an esthetic, light cured, radiopaque composite specifically designed for use in anterior or posterior direct or indirect restorations. Bonding to tooth structure is accomplished by using a dental adhesive system, such as 3M™ Single Bond or 3M™ Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Adhesive Systems. The restorative is available in a variety of shades and is packaged in traditional syringes and single dose capsules. The matrix of this composite is a resin consisting of BIS-GMA (Bisphenol A diglycidyl ether dimethacrylate), UDMA (urethane dimethacrylate), and Bis-EMA (Bisphenol A polyethylene glycol diether dimethacrylate). This light-cured resin is filled with 60% (volume) silica/zirconia. The filler particle size distribution is 0.01 µm to 3.5 µm with an average particle size of 0.6 µm. Filtek™ Z250 exhibits about 18% less volumetric shrinkage upon curing than 3M™ Z100™. An example from the manufacturer shows shrinkage of 2.0% after 5 minutes and 2.2% after 30 minutes; sample geometry will effect actual values. Wet fracture toughness is 1.5 MN/m. The wear rate in an in-vitro 3-body wear test gives 3.6 µLoss/39,000 cycles. Filtek Z250
25. Heliomolar HB Resin Composite is an esthetic, high-viscosity, packable, light-cured restorative material designed for use in posterior teeth (Classes I and II). The product joins Micronew (Bisco) as one of the few "reinforced" microfills that have a higher viscosity than traditional microfills. According to the manufacturer, this is accomplished by using a special rheologic modifier. One important claim made for Heliomolar HB is that its thicker consistency makes it easier for clinicians to establish proper interproximal contacts. Among the other advantages claimed by Ivoclar Vivadent are excellent polishability and shade matching, adequate radiopacity, and high strength. Heliomolar HB is filled 66.7% by weight (46% by volume) with silicon dioxide and ytterbium trifluoride particles. It is available in a total of 11 shades (9 of which are keyed to the Vita shade guide and two enamel shades). The product is available in syringes and in wide-mouth capsules (Cavifils). Instructions call for placing the material in 1- to 2-mm increments and using a 20-second light curing time. Among other items, the kit includes a dispenser gun, Ivoclar Vivadent's unit-dose bonding agent (Excite), and a graphics-containing summary instruction card. Heliomolar
