  6. 6. Instruments/Apparatus:Pen type pH meter, four 250mlbeakers, polystyrene cup, paper towels
  7. 7. Materials:Different types of fruit juices ofthe same brand, buffer solution
  8. 8. 1. Four 250ml beakers are prepared and labelledA, B, C, D.2. 200ml of the fruit juices of different flavours arepoured into the following labelled beakers.3. 100ml of buffer solution is measuredand poured into a polystyrene cup. Thecap of the pen type pH meter is removedand turned on. The probe end of the pentype pH meter is immersed into thebuffer solution.
  9. 9. 6. The pen type pH then is immersed intothe fruit juice labelled A to obtain its pHvalue.7. The pen type pH meter is swirled in thefruit juice to prevent air bubbles and isleft in the solution until a stable reading isdisplayed.8. The value shown on the pen type pHmeter is recorded in a table.9. The steps 6 to 9 are repeated using theother sample of fruit juices in beakerB, C, and D.4. The pen type pH meter isswirled in the buffer solution toprevent air bubbles and is left inthe solution for at least 30seconds until it reads pH 7.5. The pen type pH is rinsed underrunning water and excess liquid isdried with a paper towel.

Conclusion• All the fruit juice A, B, C, D, had the same vitamin Ccontent due to the insignificant difference in the pH.• Form our observation of the nutritional information ofthe fruit juices on the back of the box, our conclusionwas also strengthened. We saw that all the vitamin Ccontents in the fruit juice were the same (39mg) forjuice A, B, C and D.• Different types of fruit juice of the same brand docontain the same content of vitamin C. The vitamin Ccontent is not affected by the type of fruit juice if thefruit juice came from the same brand.
