    Location: the northeast of Africa
    Close Desserts: Libyan, Nubian, and the Eastern dessert
    Size of Egypt: about 997,740 sq. km
    Capital: Cairo
    Largest River: The Nile River
    Climate: Very dry and there’s almost not any rainfall
    Cataracts- protect Egypt from invasions also called rapids.

    Size: 6695 kilometers
    Depth: 8-11 meters
    Important Facts
    • One of the most famous rivers in the world.
    • Contains lots of fertile soil
    • Got it’s name from the Greek
    • The Name also means Valley
    • One of the most necessary thing needed for the egyptians.
    • The longest River in the world.

    • Khufu Ruled
    • Pyramids started to be made
    • Mummification beliefs started
    • People’s religion started to believe in
    the afterlife and in gods.
    • Started the development of the
    Nile agriculture.
    • Egyptians myths starting to be made.
    • Pharaohs were known as if they
    were gods.
    Began: around 2700 BC
    Ended: around 2200 BC
    Dynasties: 3- 6
  • Middle Kingdom
    Important Facts
    • Made powerful sculptures.
    • Climatic changes such as the
    increased amount of rain that would
    lead to major inundations and floods.
    • It started to fall into disorder again.
    • The Hyskos invaded Egypt with advanced weapons and horses then they conquered Lower Egypt then they Ruled for the next 200 years.
    • Actually the most important time in ancient Egypt.
    Began: around 2050 BC
    Ended: around 1750 BC
    Dynasties: 11-13
  • 200 years after!(while the hyskos ruled lower egypt )
  • New Kingdom
    Started: 1550 BCE
    Ended: 1050 BCE
    Dynasties: 13-20
    Important Facts
    • Ahmose rose to power after driving out
    the Hyskos from Lower Egypt.
    • Ahmose became a king and then to prevent
    invasions they went to fight other homelands.
    • First homeland was the Hyskos homeland and
    second was Syria they kept on invading other
    homelands and because of these invasions
    they became very rich.
    • Trade started to develop. More and More!

    Foods: Egyptians mostly ate Red meats, fruits and vegetables, wheat and
    Barley and fish!

    Soldiers, farmers, and slaves.
