  • 5. Why are some blogs are unpopular?1. Unfocused content (Topic? Categories?)2. Your posts lack variety (Eg: Today, I went Bishan. Tomorrow, I am going AMK…)3. Blog for a reason (Eg: End of exams! So happy! The end.  Use Twitter!)4. Your headlines don’t grab attention (Hi! VS How-to…)5. You post inconsistently (Once in a blue moon)

  • 7. How to blog better?1. Focus on the most interesting / newsworthy thing2. Avoid meaningless sentences. Eg: Professor Koh gave us a talk last night.3. Be specific and informative4. Don’t write events chronologically5. Leave out the most boring stuff
  • 8. Eg: Singapore Blog Awards
  • 9. Create Meaningful Photos Do not post so many posters in your blog! Too much camwhore shots is no good unless… Don’t leave out the details Changing perspective What does every photo mean? Cannot always say “I love this picture!”, “My best picture!”, “This is damn cool!”
  • 10. Rule of Thirdwhen your subject lays on the intersections of theselines, the picture looks alot more pleasing
  • 11. Give the head some spaceImagine your subject is walking in a direction. You haveto that person space or leadroom for the direction theyare walking towards; otherwise, it looks like he or shewill walk into a wall.
  • 12. Pole on Head Do keep in mind your backgroundand any trees or poles thatmight stick out of yoursubjects head.
