international organization that addresses the need for
indigenes in any community to be properly educated
particularly; literacy and non formal education.
The UIL addresses the needs for continuous improvement in
education by gearing activities towards Achieving the
Education for ALL (EFA), and Millennium Development Goals
(MDG) along with activities founded by the United Nations
(UNLD) and objectivities of the International Conference on
Adult Education (UNLD).

The UNESCO Institute for life long learning is based offers a
variety of programs;
Lifelong Learning Policies and Strategies- This addresses
policies that if well taught can help developing countries

Adult Learning and Education- This addresses the
important task of Adult education in developing countries
Priority Africa- The UIL has a major focus on Africa and
uses all skills necessary to help properly equip indigenes on
the land about leadership, literacy and Adult Education. In
fact the UIL intends to promote a new method for Adult
Education based on the African style.
