    • Don’t let me think- An email inbox is a busy place grabbing quick attention is the key of success. Strong and direct subject line plays a curtail role to compel user to open email and read message.
    • Image blocking - By default images used in Emailer are off, hence you need to make sure that even in image off scenario the message is conveyed to the optimum. Avoid using image at strategic places like heading, subheading or body text. Use alternate (Alt) tag in coding with images to convey full message.
    • Tables led design - Coding with structural tables are good for email structure.
    • Add inline styles - Coding guideline e.g. Gmail removes anything else.
    • Text version - Test the Text only version to ensure the message is conveyed in totality.
    • Legal obligations - Mandatory to law of land e.g. CAN-SPAM for US senders, Unsubscribe link in general etc.
    • Testing -To make sure your design works well in users’ Email boxes
  • Viewing Stages -1 Subject line- User sees the subject line and decides whether to read further or not. e.g. Email sent from a personal email address ( yogesh@wunderman.com ) achieves much stronger open and click rates than one sent from a general email address (interactive@wunderman.com)
  • Viewing Stages-2 Preview Pane User reaches here after he clicks on subject line. Here he typically view a part of emailer. This stage is available with new version of Outlook, new yahoo, new rediffmail etc.
  • Email Open – With image On / Off Email Open Full email is seen here. Viewing Stages-3
  • Email - Code Optimization & Testing Text Only Version Test : We check the Emailer is conveying complete message even with images off. Image Optimization: Ensure images used are in supported format and very lightweight Code optimization: Skinny & appropriate codes to reduce weigh and display emailer properly. Design testing in actual environment- Sending email to actual email clients (Gmail, yahoo, outlook etc) ensures it will work well when send as a final email. Test mail: before sending bulk email, test email is sent out to samll database to check any probably issue with email. Spam check: Ensuring the email doesn’t contain spam keywords, codes, or attachment and will land as a valid email.
